  1. its not so much that they went out of fashion. it was a group of parents that didn't want disembowelled children so regulations were brought in about protrusions from the bodywork. the hood ormements on rolls and mercedes have retraction mechanisms for the rolls and mercedes use a sprung system to make them collapse in impacts
  2. While my take on this doesn't involve what would be considered hobbies as such. When i was caring for my grandmother who had dementia we would go through her old photos and label who was who in them along with where etc. out of the 3 people that had dementia that i've cared for, she was the only one that could hold a proper conversation a year after diagnosis. while what i did was nothing special, i think it slowed it down and i'll tell everyone to do stuff like this. it doesn't matter what it is and its much better than a care home because they just cant spare the one on one time to do it. it can be as simple as having them fold the laundry or even just a meal at a dining table with no tech so you have conversations
  3. its looking good. if you want clear to print better try lowering the layer height and printing it as normal. then after cleaning, but before curing brush a little of the clear resin over them and let it settle. now when you cure the parts the lines should be gone. you can also use clear paint but it takes a lot longer. this works better on small parts than windows
  4. Very nice work, yours is only the second i've seen that has working features. all the rest have been glued shut
  5. egos to the pub often and his wife gets angry
  6. have those 36s had the front end and grille raked back?
  7. what do you think of the isuzu bellet kit? its been one i'm thinking about getting but i haven't seen any built yet
  8. awesome, i can build more tractors now theres something to put behind them
  9. another to add to the list,
  10. scotland is the only place whisky is made as all the rest are spelt wrong
  11. With massive thanks to NerdmanB i now have a body to get started on. Since I'm in europe mine is going to be RHD but our tudors used similar shaped doors to those from the 3 window among other more subtle differences so the doors are now euro style with the locks filled with stretched sprue. I also smoothed the roof but i havent yet smoothed the cowl as the vent may be useful as the charging hub as i'm going electric. I printed out a tesla motor but it just looked boring so instead i've used 2 rossler promod boxes, some random parts and some vespa wheels to make a more intersting ev double motor. its not based on any motor, just made to look like it might be usable. Because i'm going for twin motors in the rear this will be a 2 seater only and i might use the dash and seats from the chrysler atlantic kit but thats not decided yet.
  12. in the uk its only the colour the lights shine that matters. most cars have had all clear front lights for 25 years now and all clear rears are starting to be common now too. just look at the nissan leaf (you can scrub your eyes later, lol) which is as colourless as it is tasteless
  13. Someti-i-imes i-i-it-t-s--s toooooo beeeee aaahhh wooooomahan come-on now, everybody sing along.....

  17. you can reduce the scarring a little if you hold the piece in fairly hot water while you remove the supports
  18. i'll happily vouch for the products. The aftermarket aircooled vw rims are the best i've had and the 17" wheel barrels are ideal for upsizing the revell corrado rims. i would like to get another mk3 golf wagon again if thats possible, i saw a really clean 1/1 the other day i'd like to build
  19. one of the audi e-tron coupes drove past me the other day and it seemed to have a slight rumble to the motor instead of the whine most have. even the porsche ev has a that whine so the audi actually sounded car ish. It wasn't tyre noise either as the rumble was while on grass. still not as good as a powerful engine but it was a more pleasing sound. still not something i would want to own though
  20. politician was the name of the ship that sank in the movie whisky galore but if you want to watch it look for the original cos the remake was meh!
  21. I like them to have an engine but it doesn't mean i wont glue the hood shut and build them curbside. It really depends on my mood on the day, sometimes i just want something for my own shelf so an engine doesn't matter that much but if its something I intend to share its getting an engine but not necessarily the right one. for me the exterior and interior are more important as they can be seen without picking up my models

  23. i'm not very good at photoshop but i can give it a try if you like?
  24. you can report it to admin so they can move it. If you click the 3 little dots at the top of your post it gives you various options
  25. The main point about all red lenses is they still flash orange. you can have any colour you want of exterior lenses as long as the lights are the correct colour when lit. and its cheaper to make the all red lenses than the mixed lenses as its just one colour molding in one part rather than 2 or 3 molds and gluing hazzards dont over ride the other lights, orange is just a more intense colour then red so they appear brighter and you shouldn't really be using hazzards when driving anyway, they are for when you are broken down at the side of the road. if you need to use hazzards when driving you should really have the proper belisha beacon lights mounted such as trash trucks and roedworker vehicles.
