theres one inthe entex/imai/various other brands kit of the 58 caddy. the valve covers i it have the cadllac script on them, its 1/24 scale. i dont know if its accurate or not but given the roof never fits i'd guess its not -

the bed alarm will be a massive help to you, and might even allow you to relax a little during the night. theres an easier fix than a stair gate to keep him in his room at night too, just swap door handles and tumblers from a door that opens the other direction. then it needs to be lifted to open it and with dementia/alzheimers thats something that wouldn't occur to them to think off. It works best with the doors that have a handle rather than the round/ball type handles. its something simple to swap but it will help keep them safe. one of those find my keys/gps tags can be useful too if he has a jacket he wears most, just hide one in the lining then you have a simple tracking device if he does get out. even with all these things theresa high chance he will still get out so maybe saying something to your neighbours to call if they see him out alone.

I'm getting data error messages when i try to post and when i try to access the forum. sometimes it says the data is currupted and other that say data error. i'm using firefox on windows 11. its not a regular error, and its only been happening since monday, but not on every post, just the odd one here and there. the error screen that pops up is black and white only when usually the modelcars logo is in colour. if i refresh or click the try again button on the page a few times it seems to post but i get stuck on the error page until i open a previously accessed page. it seems to be intermittent, i might get it on every post for ten mins or i might get it on none for hours. The only constant is its between 10am and 12pm gmt each time just happened again. screenshot it -
Toyota MK3 Supra model kit
stitchdup replied to Camaro lover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
the tamiya is your best bet. theres loads to pick from on ebay if you dont mind ordering from overseas or you might find engine bays for the fujimi and hasegawa kits from a 3d printer. theres a few out there to choose from, including tube frontends for drag cars -
i dunno, it was a proper delivery company and its on the orkney islands. wouldn't do them any good anyway, theres nothing for them to nick

2024 Cannonball Run Restomods Build Thread

I'm going with a revell mk2 golf. To give me a little more leaway on wheels space I decided to use the zender version as it was available from vw so would be classed as a factory option. I'll be trying to stick to only vw parts so will be using a printed r32 engine and 6 speed box with a small/medium sized turbo for drivability. Suspension will probably be airlift performance bags a its cheapers than a hls system like is fitted on supercars but still includes top quality coilovers, just with the spring replaced with a bag and is again a bolt on. Since i detest how revell did the engine bay on the mk2 kits I'll be replacing it with a 3d printed version which has none of the bottles and stuff molded in. I'm going to try and keep the look as 1980s so will probably install a heckblende (coloured extension to make the rear lights appear to cover the entire width of the rear) and a window louvre. Wheels will probably be bbs or upsized oem 3 piece of some sort -
delivery company tried to deliver a big telly to me, i haven't ordered one and its not in my name so i refused delivery. they seemed to think it was up to me to fix somebody elses mistake and weren't happy having to reload it.

Unconventional Materials - From the jewelry area

A source for free clear plastic for doing glass is your local phone/laptop/tech repair shops. Every new screen comes in decent clear packaging and the shops have to pay to dump it. I've been getting 2 carrier bags full every month from them as my friend works there and its costing them a lot each month to send it for recycling, so they keep it for me. it needs sorting as some is a little distorted but most of it is good -

i can easy send you some, i have 2 sizes and i'll never use it all -
the wheel nuts should be acceptable to go to centre locks. there are kits bolt on centre lock hubs to most wheels now, and wheel adaptors to convert almost any wheel to fit any bolt pattern in the 1/1 world. its no longer a case of needing race car hubs for cantre locks. The custom vw guys are even converting bolt on wheels to be centrelocks

Looking for ideas on how to widen rubber tires
stitchdup replied to midlineqb's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
use glue from a puncture repair kit, or shoogoo2. the shoogoo2 is black glue for repairing soles of trainers. its mostly found in the independant skateboard shops as long as you dont live in california cos it got banned there. loctite also do a version but its clear and full off bubbles and includes silicon which nobody wants near any models. The shoogoo2 does not contain silicon and i'm sure if you were careful could be used to mold your own tyres but its would be a messy process as its really sticky. once it has set it is still pliable. also use it outside, or in the garage with the big doors open. the fumes will affect you otherwise as they are very strong. when i glued up my trainers i left them outside for 2 days cos the fumes hung about for a while -

thats sligthly different, the stuff i have is just the braided part. and due to the braiding it can be squashed back on itself lengthways and wire put inside. i can get the 2mm to open up to 6mm but any bigger and the braid opens and can look a bit naff. i found the largest selection of sizes in the loch flies section but thats a scottish thing. it might be called the lake section for anyone outside scotland -
Why is my clear coat coming out textured?

if you really want to use non hobby paints similar to rustoleum, it could be worth trying plasti-kote enamels. decent range of colours and they work reasonably well. -
you want neutrogena norwegian hand cream. it was all we used on the boat to prevent chapping on our hands. its less than 2 bucks a tube and i can happily recommend it. there are much more expensive versions but neutrogena is by far the best. It even works with salty air, and every person i know that works on fishing boats uses it so it must be good.

Another option for braided line can befound in fishing shops that carry kits to make your own flies. There are braided fishing lines that comes on 150ft reels. It is hollow, and if you need a larger diameter you can use wire inside to bulk it up, or to make it hold its shape. You will need very sharp cutter for it or it will fray at the ends but the cutters are available too for around 5 bucks. the fishing line is around 15-20 bucks. It can be painted with acrylics if you plastic prime first. the larger sizes can be thickened up to do radiator lines too. i'll get some pics when i get back home
