  1. Just a quick heads up. Micheal’s has the 40% off coupon right. Selection is never great, but it’s better than nothing. I just picked up the ‘70 Trans Am. Also got a Baja bronco for $10 on clearance. Not sealed, so hopefully it’s all there.
  2. That looks great Joe! Is the steering wheel pe?
  3. That's what I was guessing, just based on the molding quality. Just has that vintage AMT "feel" about it.
  4. Picked these two up pretty cheap. This is my first promo. Usually when I find one it’s way out of my price range. This one needs a little tlc at the a pillar, but nothing that can’t be fixed. Question for you promo guys out there. Is this one AMT? I know nothing about these.
  5. Sad day for us parrot heads. I might have to have a boat drink when I get home. Rest in peace Jimmy.
  6. The main thing I use is a pair of 3X reading glasses. That covers the majority of my needs. If I need more than that I have a visor similar to the one posted above. Got mine for around $10 at Harbor Freight.
  7. Exactly!? That, and to be honest I’m just not into facebook. I don’t care what so and so had for dinner tonight, or what drama is happening with this person or that. I figure if we’re real friends, I’ll just talk to them. That being said, there are a couple of groups I’m curious about.
  8. I belong to only one other forum, and it's focus is much less about cars and more about military models. I was drawn to it because of my interest in model airplanes specifically. But I haven't been active there in years. Nothing against it. It's just that my focus is on cars currently. I do think it's great that there are so many outlets for the hobby now. Especially since many have different areas they focus on. You can learn a lot from people who have different interests than your own. I'd love to be active on some of the Facebook pages, but I tend to stay away for two reasons. First, it's easy to lose track of time when you start down that rabbit hole. I have a hard enough time keeping my attention on projects without more distractions. Second, I don't like the idea that everybody knows what you're doing on Facebook. If I make a post here, the only people who know about it are other kit builders.
  9. Interesting. I haven’t found anything to be missing yet. I know it has those pins. Looking at the way the front wheels mount, you could probably get away with just gluing the whole front end together. I think the pins only matter if you want the wheels to spin. That’s what I plan to do. Or you can contact Round 2. I’d probably do that regardless, if for no other reason than just so they’re aware of the issue. Fair warning though, I got in touch with them about another kit several months ago and it took a couple of weeks just to get a response. I did eventually get a replacement part though.
  10. Really nice! Great workmanship man!?
  11. That’s a great looking build. Excellent job!?
  12. That looks spectacular. Amazing job on a very difficult kit to build.?
  13. That looks great! I really like the color. ?
  14. Pretty cool. What did you use for the natural metal finish? Looks great.
  15. Thanks Carl!
  16. My daughter is home from school for a week. So we’re in Hocking Hills OH doing some hiking for a few days. The views are amazing! Absolutely breathtaking. But the absolute best part of this trip is just being together with my wife and kid. Love those two so much!
  17. I was 9. We didn’t even have a Target in the area, but Kmart was a favorite of mine. And Murphy Mart.?
  18. Yeah, they can be a bit pricey. I have a few of the smaller scale boats. If you watch, you can get them pretty reasonably on eBay. I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than $25 for one. The bigger ones are way above my budget too. I’d love to go to that Lake Tahoe show. I’ll check it out online.?
  19. Check them out here: https://www.dumasproducts.com/?product_cat=boat-kits The old wood boats are works of art. Love everything about them. Including that classic inboard sound. If you’ve ever been around one when it started up, you know what I’m talking about. One of the best noises in the world!?
  20. Me too. Have you ever looked at some of the Dumas boat kits? They're all wood. I have a Chris Craft started. Someday I need to get back to it...
  21. That looks really cool Tim. I like what you did with this one. This kinda throws a little more fuel on the fire too. I'm still kicking some ideas around. The more I think about it, the more I want to create a fictional factory stock race car. Like it could ordered that way. My model building plans change from day to day, so we'll see where I actually end up. Thanks for sharing all those beautiful builds!
  22. Must have been “race car day” at the junk shop. Also stopped by Ollie’s on the way home and picked up the ‘40 Ford.
  23. Ollie’s in Angola IN. I got the last ‘40 Ford and Ford tri motor.
