That’s a bummer. I’ve been there too many times myself. Going to stay with the same color?
-
That stance is sweet!!?
-
Great looking build. I love that color!
-
Beautiful job. She’s a looker!?

That’s gorgeous from every angle. Congrats Steve. This is one to be proud of.? -
Those both look terrific! Especially the orange one. Wow. That's gonna be killer when you get it all together.

The flames look pretty cool. Kinda give it a 60's or early 70's vibe. I have one of these started somewhere. I need to dig it out and get going with it.
-
Cool project, especially since it has meaning to you. I dig it!
-
Cool color. It suits the car very nicely. Should look awesome when done.
-
If I tried that it would have a nice chrome squiggle all over the place.?
-
Looks awesome. How the heck did you do the chrome piping on the door cards??
-
That looks terrific! I like the use of non-standard materials too. Very inventive.?

Fourth time is the charm? I reshot this about a month ago and let it gas out until yesterday, when I wet-sanded it and rubbed it out. Still isn’t perfect, but I can live with it now. And maybe more importantly, I know what went wrong. This summer has been a real learning experience with paint. The paint and clear blushed pretty badly. I’d never experienced that before, but thanks to a couple of our colleagues, I learned it wasn’t a big deal. They were right. It buffed out nicely.

Anyone here use the Tamiya tape for curves? How does it compare to regular Tamiya tape?

Very cool project Steve. And those rims…. Stellar!? I built one of these about 20 years ago. Probably one of my better builds to date. I’m along for the ride. Looking forward to seeing yours take shape.

Sundays are shaping up to be my most productive days at the bench. Got two more bodies in primer, shot two test panels to check out a couple of colors, painted the firewall, grill, and undercarriage of a GTO kit, and (probably the biggest news of the day) FINALLY rubbed out the finish on my Camaro project. Sorry, no pics at this time. Most of the stuff is drying. I’ll update the Camaro wip soon.

The color is perfect David. Really excellent job!

Firefly was great! One of my favorite sci fi shows.?

Picked these up today. The sniff proof glue was in one of the boxes. Good thing too. I’m almost out!? Update- I found time this morning to do a quick parts inventory. The Datsun is complete. Thought for sure it would be missing pieces. The Bronco on the other hand is missing quite a few parts, including wheels and tires. But the major components are there. You could still put together a pretty good looking build.

Oh now I have the perfect idea for my next thread. Post your top 5 fish slap videos! Or middle 5 if you prefer. Or maybe it should be top seven... Great, now I can't decide!

The top 5 builds that you've done......

Stunning builds man. I didn't know the Testa Rossa kit existed. Is it older? -
I forgot all about myth busters! That was a really cool show.

I gotta say, today was kind of crappy day and I needed a good laugh. Thanks a lot buddy! Made my day.

Hey thanks very much man! That means a lot to me coming from you. I used quite a bit of the advice you gave me on one of the paint threads a while back, and I think it’s paying off. I’m still not consistent, but it’s getting better.?

I live about half an hour from there. Actually went to grade school within walking distance. I highly recommend the place too. The cars are stunning. And it goes beyond that. The building is fantastic too. Great architecture. Auburn is where most of those cars were built. So much history in one place. Side note- there’s another car and truck museum right behind it.?
