Finished putting the clear coat on last night. Anybody else tired of seeing this thing bounce back and forth between primer and color and then back to primer again? I’ve lost count of how many times it’s been in the purple pond.?. I’m finally satisfied with the results. Not perfect but probably as good or better than anything else I’ve shot so far.

This was a fairly productive day at the bench. Got two kits washed and ready to go for whenever I’m ready to start them. Also put the first two coats of clear on my beetle, bench raced the MPC Grumpy Vega (I have a pretty cool concept brewing for that one), and probably most importantly, I got the final coat of clear on this one. I have to say I’m feeling more confident in my painting skills. I’m definitely not to where I want to be yet, but I think I’m making progress. I owe a debt of gratitude to some of you guys too. This forum and its members have helped me far more than you’ll ever know.

I was just there last weekend. It’s very cool. But I confess I did expect a little more. But the building is shaped weird, making space limited in some areas. Lower level was the best. But the Van Halen’s guitar rig was on the top floor and that’s pretty hard to beat. I guess it depends on how far you have to travel whether it’s worth it or not.

I’m really surprised to see that Coronet in the picture.
