Seriously though, I think all the unfinished wips are sort of the nature of the hobby. Also it’s part of personality types and human nature. Some people have no problem taking a project to completion, others (like myself) struggle to finish one project. Attention span also plays a role. There’s always a shinier object in the corner of your eye to pull you away. edit- David’s suggestion is a really good idea I think. Lets the builder know there’s still some interest in their project. Maybe there is progress and the op just hasn’t posted it.

Tim, that stance is perfect. Looks like it’s going 100mph just sitting there. Great looking build all around.? -

Very cool color. Looking forward to seeing the outcome of this one.?

Man Dusty, that sucks. Sorry to hear. What type paint was your color coat? I've spent most of the summer stripping paint jobs, trying to get my technique down. This is a very small consolation and sounds like I'm too late this time anyway, but I've had really good luck stripping Dupli Color with cheap 90% iso alcohol. Might save you a few bucks in the future.

I'm pretty sure you're right about this being the car at the Ford museum. I've seen it there a couple of times. It's my favorite museum. I'm interested to see how the build goes for you. Following along for the ride! -
Nice shaggin’ wagon! Looks great!?

Looks really good. ?I think I have that same kit. Any issues?

Great stance. I’d be interested in seeing your take on this one.?

Rims and tires are pretty much ready to go. I used a tool I made chucked up in my drill to sand the tires. Makes the job easier and to me it looks more realistic. Works pretty good for normal treads. I’d never used it on slicks before now.

Is this a gloss clear coat?
atomicholiday replied to Milo's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This^ I was having a lot of painting issues this spring and then took a page from Steve's book. I started waiting 3-4 hours between coats when using lacquer. Might seem like an excessive amount of time, but it works. My paint jobs are much better for it. By the way, nice mats. Is that flocking? Can't tell on this tiny screen. -
What is this little RHD thing?

Never seen that Honda before. That looks like a lot of fun on four wheels. I want one! -
What non-auto model did you get today?
atomicholiday replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I have a few of them too, but I don’t think any are the really sought after ones. Never built one but they look pretty good. I go back and forth between car kits and airplane kits every few years and right now I’m head over heels for cars. But I still pick up the occasional airplane when I see a good deal.? -
Nice looking Merc. You don’t see this one built everyday. Looks great.

Wow, that’s really nice. Super clean build.?

This is a really cool idea. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.?

I’m on the hunt for this one. I’ve hit every Ollie’s within about a hundred miles. Zilch. I did find it and a bunch of other current Ollie’s kits in a junk shop yesterday. But they marked them all up to $23. Just trying to make a quick buck.

Got the final color coat on today. After it cures out I’ll hit it with Testors wet look clear and we’ll be in business.
