Ahhh, so this is where these decals came from. I got them in my stash but have always thought them to be from an older pickup kit. Cool project, I really want to see a long step side box for some of these kits and I would also have it with a 3/4 ton version. I'm not picky on what kit it is for as long as they make it.

Four door sedans - are there many?
Atmobil replied to Jiminwatford's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
At the top of my head AMT 90s Ford Taurus (several versions but I belive they are mostly the same) Revell 05 Chevy Impala Revell 91-96 Impala (at lest 3 different versions) Johan 68 Plymouth Fury AMT 05 Chrysler 300 Revell Dodge Charger There are more but as you say, not that many 4 door sedans. The Japanese makers have made quite a few more of them. Several versions of Nissan Skyline as I can recall and many other Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda among others. Fujimi released a 70s Toyota Mark II Grande a few years ago. It is only in lowrider style but with different wheels it can be made in to a stock version. Then there is also some European cars, Ebbro released the Citroen DS and they have the Renault 4 as do Heller and they also have a Citroen Traction Avant and Tamiya and Revell AG made BMW E36 sedans (not sure if they are the same kits or not). Esci made Mercedes 190E (W201 body 1983-1992) and Revell AG did a Mercedes W124 in both sedan and wagon versions. I'm sure there are more out there, these are the ones I remember at the moment. -
What semi would you like in a kit?
Atmobil replied to Bobcat205's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There could be a huge list of trucks that should be made in to kits but if they want to get the kids in on it, why not have a tie-in with something the kids are in to? https://americantrucksimulator.com/ Atleast I think the kids are in to it... -

This is fantastic too see, I'm a great lover of Sweptlines and I have so far managed to get my hands on a few resin kits (including one from Modelhaus) but have not built one yet. I got two 1:1 trucks now, both 65 pie-plates with 318 Poly engines and I see that you are getting the details correct. Will be following this thread for more updates. Keep up the good work My 65 D100: and my 65 (registered as a 67 here) W200 firetruck: -
Really nice, I want to see more pictures. I do have the Revell 68 kit myself but have so far not built it.

Great model and a really cool idea. I did see that Peel P50 that Jeremy Clarkson drove om Top Gear but have never heard og this Dutch mobile raincoat. What does that look like?
-
Looks very nice. I had that as a kit when I was a teenager but it never looked this good. This shows you how much better a prebuilt diecast can get with some tlc.

So, who makes them and where can I order them?

Really cool project. I loved that show as a kid (and still do) and wanted to be a helicopter pilot because of it. I never got to be a pilot because of my vision but still love the show. I have many times looked for that kit but not found one at price I can live with. Will be fun to follow this project. -
I need a 1/25th human skull...anybody?
Atmobil replied to BDSchindler's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Back in 2005 I built the Revell 1937 Ford van as a hearse and called it To Die For'd. It was driven by a skeleton in a cloak (yes, the Grim Reaper but I would call him Manny) I had a hard time finding a good source for a skeleton, I searched online and asked around on forums. I had no luck for a long time but finally struck out as I found some archeology toys in local toystores. There was atleast 3 different versions. One with a dinosaur, one with an alien (that was glowing in the dark) and one with a human skeleton. This figurne happened to be just the right size to fit inside the Ford. I wish I could show you the pictures of it but I'm unable to log in to Photobucket. It looks like there is many more options today however. -

I sure did, maybe it was because I searched for 1972 GTO. Anyway, looks like you did a fine job on it. It does look like it is possible to do a nice model out of the kit but it will take quite some effort. Yes, they are cool cars. I want to build one aswell. The one I bought was done as a speed-build. I built it all up in a couple of hours (or maybe even less) using almost no paint and superglue to get it togheter. It went in the trash afterwards.

Art Dump Truck (Holy Cow!)
Atmobil replied to Bills72sj's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As it is 1:24 I could be in for noe of them. -
Interesting thread. My vote go for the reissue of the mpc 72 pontiac gto. I bought it cheap and atempted a speedbuild of it. Nothing would fit right. Had to cut off quite a chunk of the back of the floorpan to get it to fit inside the body. Atleast the kit was cheap ? Another kit that looked bad is Sharp Mercedes 250 /8. It was priced at about 100 dollars when I found it at a show. I looked at it and took pictures of the contents but did not buy it. I have owned 2 fullscale /8's and the kit resembled the real thing only in theory. The model has 4 wheels and so does the real car but nothing else is similar. Here is some pictures of the box and kit: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/sharp-tsm-7-mercedes-benz--1190740 https://en.todocoleccion.net/model-cars-scale-1-24/sharp-kit-no-tsm-7-300-mercedes-benz-cuerda-para-montar-escala-1-24-~x28649311

Hmm...That is a GMC aswell. Looks like the AMT kit is a better kit to replicate the Hardy Boys van but I guess Revell must have scored a deal on TV-show merchandise at that time.

I just found this on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-Revell-Hardy-Boys-1-25-Scale-Model-Van-GREAT-COLLECTIBLE-ITEM/254406310017 it is a tvshow tie-ine but the actors are mentioned on the box. Did they drive a van like that it the show? I have never seen that but I have read some of the books and I don't think they ever had a van but they did have a sports car of some sort at one point. Interesting series of books aswell, I think there is a 110 of them in total and the two boys are always 17 and 18 years old and have always just started their summervacation and just happen to fall in to some scumbags with evil plans. They must have they same genes as the Simpsons as they never age but they do move forward in time. In the oldest books they do with "older tech" than in the newer ones.

Anybody making a 1:24 squarebody long bed?
Atmobil replied to Atmobil's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thank you for the link. That does however look like it is meant for the MPC 1:25 kit. It will go on my "to buy" list as I got several of those kits aswell. -
Whats In The Box Revell Land Rover Series III LWB
Atmobil replied to martinfan5's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
That should be and easy one, if the old ESCI tool (reissued by Italeri) has the same dimensions one could cut the hood from that body and someone could quite easily make a resin copy of that. Here is a picture of mine (I never finished that one) -
I'm a fan of trucks but...
Atmobil replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Fits perfectly in to the Tesla drivers way of driving then as most of them drive like they stole it?
