Some cool Heller info
Atmobil replied to aurfalien's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I did read that article once before and what struck me then and now is this: This really is a sign of how ambitious they where at Heller back in the day. -
Sorry for bringing up another old thread but I got plans to build a model of my own 69 1300 out of the sedan and I plan on moving the taillights over from the cabriolet version. I'm also going to use the bumpers from that one. I bought an extra kit just for that reason. Not 100% how to move the tailights over yet but thinking of maybe cutting in to the rear fender or maybe even moving the complete rear fenders over. In any case I think I will do the opposite for the convertible and somehow try and backdate that kit. And yes, this is a European spec 68 1200A. In the instructionbook for my 69 the 1200 is separated from the 1300 and 1500 by several details even down to the fact that it did not have a fuelgage.

This kit, despite its errors, will build up fairly nicely with some work. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96448&hl=

Great looking Delivery, looks like you have done a lot of work on it. How was the partsfit on this kit for you? I have the Three Stooges release in front of me and that has a lot of flash and many details look really faint.

Ford F350 camper
Atmobil replied to Atmobil's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks to my dear Swedish friend Mattias that gave me the idea of making a pot out of a pipe. I have now made the pot, not from a pipe but a piece of plastic hose that I found in my garage/workshop. With a 1mm brasswire for a handle and painted with humbrol aluminium and matt black. (It has no bottom but don't tell anybody that) Also made a new ladder up to the bunk: -

Tamiya Mercedes 300SL Announced, new pics added to OP
Atmobil replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I think I want to build one as a rolling chassis without the body on. Maybe put the body on stands next to the chassis. -
Why was the AMT 1941 Plymouth kitted ?
Atmobil replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think there should be more like the 41 Plymouth and the Pacer. Many cars that history have forgotten could be kitted. Yes, I know it is not a sure footed succes as another 32 Ford hot-rod or another 57 Chevy Bel-Air but sometimes they can come up with real gems. -
Thanks for all the comments A great tip, thank you very much!!

I agree with the others, a very nice build

Fantastic work on this one, great to see one finished. I have 6 of these kits (including the 2.3/16 and a Dutch police version and the Revell Kamei version) but have so far not built one. I think that a lot of these kits have wapred bodies, not sure why but I think it may be because of the way they was packaged from the factory. I see the same problems on the W107 SLC kits, got 3 of them and 2 have warped bodies. Your Sacco-plank conversion is a very nice touch, I will have to keep that in mind

(NEW Update! 6/19/15) IN progress, ICM '13 Model T For
Atmobil replied to Art Anderson's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Really cool project. I have to get one of these kits aswell. Some years ago a model-t showed up at our local vw-show. It was a car made up of parts from many and also some parts that was not car at all (seats from bathtubs). Here is a picture of it: -
Looks clean
-
Nice Where does the figures come from?
-
Really nice, I don't think we did get the Accord wagon here in Norway but it looks very nice and I think it's ashame that we did not get it.
-
Thank you so much for the comments Opening the hood would be a great thing to do, but is there a kit out there that has a better chassis for this?
-
Wow, great to see a stock model A. Really nice

Wagons that HAVE been kitted . . .
Atmobil replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, and what a great kit that is I want to build it in slightly faded paint and weathered wood with Hawaii plates and a couple of surfboards on the roof. -
1932 Ford supply vehicle
Atmobil replied to Atmobil's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thank you for the comments guys When I was at the Grevens Glue Galore in Sweden in 2013 with this I put it in a class they call Surplus (and won it to my surprise) -
Thank you for the comments guys. I was quite pleased with the result of this considering I built it in just 12 hours (I did sleep while the paint dried)

Seeing another Cuda on the forum made me remember that back in 2012 I built this as a quick-build in about 12 hours on the night before going to the Norwegian Challenge modelcontest in Drammen. I built it as a slammer with blackedout windows and no interior. I like the lines of this car, I can understand why the 1:1 subjects are so popular, this car oozes of speed The frontlicensplatedecal got a bit askew in transport. I put it on 5 minutes before leaving for the show Here is the kit I started with:
-
Ahh...looks like I have to take a closer look at them, they suit your truck just perfect

How much are you willing to pay ?
Atmobil replied to Krazy Rick's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here in Norway a new AMT/MPC or Revell/Monogram 1:25 car modelkit is about 40$US. I don't think that is too expensive. Japanese made kits are a lot more expensive and that is strange becuase I can buy them from such places and HLJ and Hobby Search for a lot less. Take this example: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10012867 The Gunze 56 Oval bug, at Hobby Search for 1080yen or just over 9$US and if I order it from them I will have it delivered to my mailbox for less than 20$US. I have seen this at stores here for a price of about 50$US. -
Cool project, the old 1:25 Revell kit is quite rough, especially in its later reissues, but it can build up quite nicely if you do your work on it. I built this from it: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96447&hl= I think I would keep the roof unchopped for better proportions but that's me
