This car has been across the country, from the Pacific to the Atlantic. My grandfather bought it in Courtney BC in '73 and it's still in the family. My uncle Steve has it right now. I had it for a while but when my Aunt passed he asked for it back for something to work on to keep him busy and his mind off other things. So, yea. it's been from Vancouver Island to Cape Breton Island and after a long rest should be back on the road in the spring.

It was reissued in 2009 under the Revell brand as the "30 Ford Touring street rod" Should still be pretty easy to find.

I think you got that completely correct Casey. Being a house painter and staircase finisher I deal with a lot of contractors. I can't think of any I know that don't drive a double cab short box 4X4. The ones that regularly need to carry stuff have enclosed trailers that almost never get unhooked from the truck.

You mean the way they fudged the roof on the '90 Mustang coupe or Moebius fudging the headlight bezels on the '68/'69 Ford pickups? Right, the villagers would be storming the castle with torches and pitch forks if it wasn't %100 correct.

Had to bring up the pics for another board so I thought I's post them here again while I had them up for those who hadn't seen them before. Built this about 15 or 16 years ago. AMT kit with Revell Buttera suspension, Revell 5.0 engine and a scratch built steering wheel. Paint is that infamous HOK "Tangelo" orange pearl.

It was a great show. Ended 11 or 12 years ago but picked up again with an animated version with almost all the main characters. Had a lot of interesting cameos of famous Canadian actors, musicians, sports personalities and politicians including a couple Prime Ministers during their terms.

Brent's Cutty is a '68. The Ford pickup is about an '81 or '82.

The black sunvisor is from the early '90s AMT Ford pickups. IIRC, it was in all the versions. The bumper/ribbed panel 2 above it is the custom rear piece from an AMT '73 Mustang, possibly the '71 and '72 also but I'm not sure.

I figured out what that grille is. It's the custom front grille from a JoHan '68 Chrysler. The rest of the custom parts are in the box it was in also.

The box of parts I got it from was mostly old parts from the late '60s and early '70s so I'm thinking it's from that era. By the look of the plating and the back of it, I'd say it's probably from some old JoHan kit from back then but I really can't say for sure.

From the Monogram "Waverider" kit. I have that kit and considered using the grille from it but, no, very different part.

I want custom grilles for this which look close to the stock Parisienne Custom Sport's thin bars. Similar to the Grand Prix's grilles but without the park lights. Found the custom grilles from the AMT '72 Chevy pickups have the look I'm after and I have enough of them to easily make the front grilles. I found this custom grille in a box of junk I bought at a show a couple years ago. I don't know what it's from but it has the right bars and is big enough to cover the space between the trunk lid and back bumper where the original Grand Prix tail lights were. Looks about like the stock Parisienne or Bonneville filler trim but has no lettering so it's perfect for my needs. BTW, if anyone knows what that grill is from [the bottom one], please let me know. The AMT Impala inner fenders are way too square, even after I tried rounding them off some with my Dremel so I cut the ones from the Grand Prix chassis plate and will graft them on. And here's the body with some primer on it. Looks like I got the new roof lined up pretty good and I just need to do some final bodywork.

Looks great Roger. It has a late '80s/early '90s vibe to it with those wheels and stance. Similar looking trucks were all over the place back then. ?

Um, you guys do know this is the Revell kit from the '90s, not an original annual from '65, right?

I'm not seeing the "double bubble" clear headlight fairings that were in the BFG car. I was hoping they would be in there. ?

Thanks for the offer Russ. I do have all of those kits you mentioned but after a couple involved , hi-detailed build, I want to do this one more "old school", as it were. Concentrating more on the overall look of the car instead of super-detailing it. But, rest assured, when it's done, it'll still have all the detail you'd want under the hood and where ever else you cam see without picking it up. I might even do poseable front wheels on it. That said, I will take it into consideration. I have a stray Revell '59 with no body I might look at using. But, like I said earlier, I don't want to make this too complicated as it might draw out the build too long and I'll loose interest.

I would but it kind of defeats the purpose of building a Canadian Pontiac, Chris. It should have a Chevy engine in it so It'll be getting the Impala kit's 409.
