  1. Exactly. Casey was just trying to be helpful. He does come off badly sometimes but he means well. ?
  2. I'm calling BS on that. If you didn't care and didn't want comments you wouldn't be making posts anywhere, let alone on here. You might know exactly what's in the box but other people who see the post on here may not know. This is one way they learn of this stuff, by reading comments about kits. I don't think it's taking anything away from you that Casey commented that the kit had issues. That particular box isn't seen very often any more and it might be helpful to someone considering buying one to know about it. If you don't want people responding to your posts maybe just put a line in your signature saying so, that way they'd know it's not welcome with you. You don't have to respond to this post, in fact I'd prefer that you didn't.
  3. That seems kinda harsh. Casey probably figured , like most people, you didn't know about the chopped top and was just trying to warn you about it. Yes, you did mention you were building your own version of the car but no where did you say it needed the chopped top. also if the know it alls didn't flex the knowledge, how would the know nothings learn anything? ?
  4. Of cores, being obscure kinda depends on where you're at. FM is pretty well known up here as their video for "Just Like You" was on pretty heavy rotation on Muchmusic [Canadian version of MTV] when it was released. I still have my cassette copy of their album "Tonight", which is excellent. Actually, it's pretty representative of the Canadian new wave sound of the late '70s and early '80s. I'd suggest you also check out The Spoons "Areas and Symphonies", Blue Peter "The Falling" and Strange Advance "Worlds Away". These albums also have somewhat of a new wave/science fiction theme to them.
  5. You're the first person I've ever seen who actually liked that Kustom Kolor paint. I've never has any as I've always used the real HOK paint it was supposed to be copying but I know a lot of guys had real problems with the quality of the stuff and it ended up being discontinued because of it. Looks like you got it to work for you though. that candy blue Merc looks great, as do the others too.
  6. I'm hoping you're right about the '69 as it's the only one I'm missing between '63 and the end of the run. But, realistically, we probably would have at least heard rumors of it being reissued if it was still a workable tool. But, hey, maybe there's enough left to make it viable to do the same thing with it as they did with the Nova wagon. Who knows? ?
  7. Nope. It was a mid-year change. The '77 Ventura was turned into the '77 Nova when the run of Pontiacs was done. That's why both '77s are so rare.
  8. I haven't seen the 19" sleeves sold anywhere for years. Same goes for their nice 19" Michelin Pilot tires.
  9. The '69 maybe. The '68 would have been modified into the '69. The chassis plate is probably the one under the '65 convertible. Thing is, why would they have modified the chassis plate from the '69 to fit the '65 [different wheelbases] if the '69 was intact? There's nothing special about a '65 to make it more desirable than a '69. Maybe less desirable because it's a convertible and the '69 is a sedan. That said, I don't know of anything that was based on the '69 tooling that was issued after it.
  10. It's a Dart, but looks more like a '66 to me. A '62 would have been a full size car.
  11. Turned out great Harry.
  12. My original post is from 8 MONTHS AGO. No idea why a newbie felt the need to start it up again.

    32 Ford Vicky

Just cool Looks like it just came off the pages of one of those little early '60s hotrod magazines. ???
  14. Black 1/64" Chartpak tape. Just put it down the center of the chrome strip and seal it with some clear acrylic like Tamiya.
  15. sarcasm noun sar·casm | \ ˈsär-ˌka-zəm \ Definition of sarcasm 1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain 2a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual b: the use or language of sarcasm
  16. Did some work on this recently and got the paint on today. Decided to keep it simple and not deviate too much from what's in the box. Going for a '90s look. Duplicolpr torch red overall with dullcoat on the interior. HOK "blue blood red" on the body panels. Gave it another 3 coats after the pics were taken. The hood sides are from the roadster kit. Wheels are from the AMT street machine version of the '68 Elcamino. The plating happened to be bad on the kit I had so the wheels look like a satin finish. Just what I wanted for the " '90s look".
  17. That wouldn't be a "one and done" Alan. That body was converted to the Nova. I doubt they'd convert it back for a kit of a much less popular car.
  18. It's been announced a few weeks ago ,,or what's left of it anyway.
  19. The blue on the decal sheet is just the backing paper. The stripes will be fine over orange. The parts you have circled on the PE sheet are looms for the spark plug wires, not anything to do with windows.
  20. Little Motor Kar Company is still in business but be warned, regular customers take priority over new ones so you might have a bit of a wait seeing as he's really the only one left that does model car parts, AFAIK.
  21. Looks very sharp Aaron. I really like your color combo. Nice job on the trim and windshield too. ?
  22. The guy joined over 2 years ago, made one post since then and it's an attack post? No worries Noel, that stuff don't hold water around here.
  23. I never noticed that before. I always assumed they actually were open there. Guess not.
  24. Not really much higher than the going price for an old Mopar promo. but this guy's prices are usually on the high side. I see he's asking $1500.oo USD for a '60 Plymouth wagon. Nicely built but not finished. He seems to think it's a Modelhaus resin for some reason.
