  1. Pretty sweet Joe. You're making me want to dig out my old Revell Bora. ?
  2. Careful lads, the "Social Justice Warriors" over at the BBC will be coming for ya.❄️??,,,?
  3. Back soon after the SA forum was created, I ran into someone who I'm pretty sure was one of the Van Halen brothers. I've never ran across him again since but from our conversation I'm pretty sure it was one of them.
  4. They're copies of the AMT and MPC kit parts so they're 1/25. But the price does seem a touch high.
  5. hoppersbazaar on E-bay has a couple resin 2nd gen Camaro grills.
  6. That looks great !!
  7. There was a promo made. I don't think there was a kit but I'm not sure.
  8. I didn't have the prestige issue. Couldn't justify buying it at the higher price when I already had a couple of the countdown cars. But, yes, what I'd be more interested in would be the second set of custom parts.
  9. Nice batch of Mercs there Phil. I've been thinking about doing a Sam Barris style Merc for a while now but just haven't gotten around to it. In the meantime, here's a Merc I built maybe 25 years ago. I had dubbed it the "Jade Idol II" at the time but another 1/1 custom '57 Ford was built that now uses the name.
  10. I wonder if they're restoring any of the lost custom parts in the Bonneville? I see the rear seat cover called out on the pic, that hasn't been in the kit since at least before the "countdown series" reissue in the '70s.
  11. I have a bunch of the Revell '32 Fords but haven't actually built one yet. Thought I'd give this style top chop a try. Took about 2 scale inches out. Not sure where this will be going though. Probably build this one fenderless but it's still not even a fully formed idea yet. There's no filler in it yet but you can see a couple spots where I wasn't careful in my cutting and had to add some sheet plastic to fill a couple gaps.
  12. It's from the net. I was driving and couldn't get my phone out for a pic.
  13. Seen one of these, in this color a few days ago. Not often you see $500K Canadian going down the street.
  14. Favorite current show is Lucifer. Used to be Doctor Who until Chibnall destroyed it re-righting the history of the show and being so preachy ,, and just bad righting. For older shows, I picked up the Miami Vice box set a few months ago. and of course, best sitcom ever ,,,
  15. I'd check out the AMT "Wagonrod" for a frame. It has a complete Art Morrison frame and suspension under it that would be perfect for a modern fat fendered rod.
  16. Thanks everyone. This actually started off as just me showing how the cab and chassis would easily fit together, I had no intention of finishing it when I started. BUT, sometimes these things just develop a life of their own. I am glad I carried through with it and I'm quite pleased with how this pile of junk parts turned out. ?
  17. Tom, ya might want to PM a moderator about deleting the 6 other copies of this thread though. ?
  18. Their website says they're in Quebec so it's hard to say. With the combination of Canada Post, delays at the border and last I heard, Quebec was at least partly on lockdown so it's entirely possible. Even here in Canada, I wouldn't expect to have my stuff for at least another few weeks.
  19. Looks great. Looks kinda orange or rust on my screen but it's a great color for that car. BTW, that kit's 1/25, not 1/24.
  20. Is this the same trailer as in the MPC Dodges from the late '60s? . . . . . . .Just kidd'n guys, I did read the whole thread. ??
  21. Looks super ???
  22. Hey Steve-O,, good to see you over hear. This guy is one of my best buds and was my best man at my wedding so be nice !! ?
  23. I didn't really want to shave off the marker lights Kurt. But the MPC cab had the deluxe style markers molded on and the AMT rear fenders had the standard markers and they didn't match so I got rid of both. I really didn't know what I was gonna do for side markers when I got rid of the molded on ones. Probably would have just left them off as it is a custom street truck but then the Jimmy came out with the decals so I used them. Looking back, I should have put the decals on thin sheet palstic first so they'd have some depth but the kit's more of a shelf model than a contest quality build with lots of other corners cut anyway. BTW, there's no real advantage to the MPC cab over the AMT cab that's out already besides the grille and bumper being separate parts. It's just what I happened to have on hand when I started.
