  1. Thanks Steven, you're a lifesaver, or at least a project saver. edit, just tried PMing you, looks like your basket might be full, it wouldn't go. Said you can't receive messages. , so, anyway, I'm sure something that small could just be taped to a piece of sprue or something else hard so it doesn't get snapped in two and sent in a small bubble envelope. When I send something to the states I just have to fill out a small form asking what's in the package and what it's worth, just takes a minute. IIRC, it's about the same coming back this way. Just let me know what you need in return.
  2. Well, I'm kinda bummed out. Got my new work area all ready for a few hours of quality time with the Bonneville I see that I'm missing the driver's side tail light lens. I could have sworn it was firmly attached into it's opening in the bumper like the other one but?? Got this set from Modelhaus so getting another one from there is out. I'd ask if anyone on the board has a spare one but that seems like a very long shot. Guess I'm gonna have to keep an eye on the bay for someone parting one out. So until I find a replacement, I guess it's back in the box it goes.
  3. This was to "recreate" the last car I had built in BC right before we moved back to NB way back in 1974. The original was brush painted with Testors bottle paints in the same colors. This one turned out much better.
  4. Works on larger tires too.
  5. If you get the Pacer, I know a guy on Quadra Island that might buy it.
  6. Nice job on the roof. One thing though, the sedans, like the original kit was, have a higher roof than the hardtops and convertibles. If it looks "off" to you comparing it to the real car, that's why.
  7. This one was rebuilt from a white glue bomb with a few parts from other issues. I also have a maroon glue bomb. IIRC, the "Hot Rods" issue I had back in the mid '70s was also white.
  8. You guys are giving me a lot to think about as I plan to so something similar in the near future.
  9. Very cool !!
  10. I have a can of that Testors blue I got as a door prize at the last show I was at ,, I wonder how close it is to actual Mopar B-5 blue?
  11. They're not the same. But they could be cut down.
  12. Might be a good idea to rethink that shelf in the last pic on page 1 there Steve. Looks like it could come down on top of those models any minute.
  13. Looks like you beat my by that much Snake.
  14. Here's a link Brad. The Drastic Plastic Model Car Club has a large archive of instruction sheets on line. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1921-1930/amt-29-model-a-ford/
  15. Just bringing this back up so I'll be able to find it easily. My new model area is almost ready and I want to get back on this car this weekend, or maybe sooner.
  16. It's too bad they couldn't bring back the original chrome reverse wheels. They were some of the best ever done.
  17. Looks like something seen flying over the Nevada desert in the late '50s.
  18. Thanks for posting that Rob. I had it in favorites before but lost it when I had to have the operating system restored last summer. Great resource for building a stock 1st gen Camaro.
  19. Since I started using this stuff over 25 years ago I don't have all those "hot paint" problems. A couple coats airbrushed over your primer after all your bodywork is done and your good to go.
  20. Outstanding build.
  21. Alan, have you perhaps thought about using an AMT Pheaton body? The interior should fit without any modifications and you could make the rag top removable or just leave it off for viewing the interior.
  22. Very true Bill. No one expected Chrome Tech to shut down, that was unexpected. A few years ago Chrome+ just kinda stopped. Louis had done my plating since he was the only one in Canada to do it. I don't know exactly what happened but last time I talked to him, he had just moved and expected to have his plating equipment set back up again shortly. That was at least 5 years ago,IIRC. I e-mailed him about this time last year but had no response so ?? I guess it just goes to show, like resin, if you want something or need something done in this hobby, better get it done now. You never know when they'll shut down and you'll be out of luck.
  23. Looks great Raoul. I find it just a treat to open your posts and see these rare old kits built, , , and to such a high degree of skill too.
