  1. Looks great. BTW, no need to apologize for pics, I think that's what most of us are here for.
  2. The MPC part will fit,, see my post right above.
  3. That's no '68 GTO, it's just the same Monogram '69 with a '68 nose and back bumper. If you really want to build it as a '68 though, the dash from the MPC '68 annual will fit right in. In fact, you might need to file the sides down a smidge, the Monogram 1/24 dash is actually a touch smaller than the MPC 1/25 piece. Thing is, the sew pattern on the seats and possibly the door panels is also completely different.
  4. That's a good kind of problem to have Steve. We should all be so fortunate. It's also nice to hear of a good kind of problem on here instead of some more of the darker stuff in the past few years. I'm shure you'll figure out a fitting solution to the problem.
  5. , , , and of course the Trumpeter kit.
  6. If I may through my 2 cents in, I've been using LMCC for my plating for a few years now and have been very happy with them. The cost for a rack the size shown is about the same as the price of a current kit plus shipping. ,, which is a bit more for me being in Canada. Turn around time was quite reasonable.
  7. Looks pretty good to me. I know it's not exactly a "factory stock" build but ,, from the factory, the door arm rests and all of the steering wheel would be black. Nothing wrong with the way you did yours though if that's how you like it.
  8. Looks like some of the interest's worn off of the topic Mike. Maybe it's because you mentioned my name.
  9. Check this out Ron. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/thecurrent/the-current-for-september-27-2018-1.4840460/this-man-made-1m-investing-in-cannabis-but-expert-warns-it-s-a-lottery-1.4840643
  10. Looks great. The decals really bring it alive. BTW, those "standard hubcaps" you took off that promo were actually an optional turbine style wheel first offered that year.
  11. AMT made annual kits of the Monte from '70 to '72. Here's a link to the auction a few weeks ago on that kit. looks like it went for a pretty reasonable price too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-ANNUAL-ORIGINAL-VINTAGE-USED-1971-CHEVY-MONTE-CARLO-3in1-MODEL-CAR-KIT-w-BOX-/173561857626?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137
  12. Kari, here's a link to an e-bay auction you might find useful. It's mostly junk but if you look directly below the red AMT Willys front end there's an original '71 Monte Carlo front bumper and grille piece. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Large-Model-Car-Junk-Yard-Duster-53-Ford-Nomad-Galaxie-Lots-of-Grills-Parts/202450461710?hash=item2f22fce40e:g:-XMAAOSwze5brDXi
  13. Looks to me like the headlight trim on the '71 and '72 is squared up more than on the '70 too.
  14. Looking good so far. Filling in the front fender bumper area really makes the front start to come together. Intrested to see you do the rear window and sail panel area, Should be interesting. I've owned a couple Rivs when I was younger but not a '70. [ a '69 and a '72]
  15. I think the '70 wasn't kitted because all the sheetmetal from the doors back is completely different than the '66 to '69 cars, not just the wheel openings. Plus a new, larger rear window. It would have been a major retool to the body for a 1-year only design.
  16. The Michaels here in Fredericton has a 10 or 12 foot long isle of kits. ,,, BUT, last time I was in was a few months ago and they hadn't restocked since the Christmas season. We're also lucky enough to have a local hobby shop that's also the Canadian distributor for Scale Finishes paint.
  17. I bet the chassis from the soon to be released Revell '68 Chevelle will be an excellent chassis and engine donor for both the Revell snap kit and the AMT kits. BTW, here's a few shots of my AMT kit. Lots of filling and sanding on the sides to get it right [ish]. I added a vinyl top and the chrome strips and photoetch emblems to convert it to a Malibu.
  18. But, yea, I like the original better than both of those.
  19. Have you driven that car? If not, then how can you comment on what the modifications have done to it? Personally, I don't want a car that floats over the road with no steering feedback. But , that's just me. I find it odd sometimes that some people [people in general, not picking out anyone in particular] will go on about how a car should stay exactly how it came from the factory and never be modified in any way. This is because most cars come out of the factory with many many modifications and compromises compared to what the original designer of the car had in mind, sketched out, on paper worked up in clay, etc. So, IF the design of a car has been so modified between what was envisioned for it and what finally rolled off the assembly line then what's the problem with more modifications as long as they are in good taste?
  20. I have quite a few pics of Beaumonts in my fotki album. If you guys need a pic of anything specific just ask.
  21. Airbrushing on a solid coat of Zinzer "BIN" between a light coat of primer and color coats works for me. You can get the BIN in a spray can but it comes out very heavy. These two were painted with HOK laquer, no ghosting from removed trim or bodywork , and there was extensive body work.
  22. Exactly what I was going to say. Excellent work.
