  1. Love it!. My favorite color for a late '60s GM.
  2. I always wanted to be a smooth jazz drummer. I's be so cool sitting there in my black turtleneck and beret tapping on a Sabian hi hat cymbal ,, "tap taptap ,, tap taptap,, tap taptap.
  3. Well,, looks like no one's gonna believe me without pictures, so here's pictures. First, a side by side with the Monogram 1/24 '69 dash in red and the MPC 1/25 dash in white,, Here's the Monogram 1/24 dash in the MPC 1/25 interior,, Pretty poor fit, yes? , , , and the MPC in [on?] the Monogram bucket,,, Looks like it will fit well if you trim the mounting tabs off the side, maybe? BTW, bonus image of the CORRECT '68 GTO seat and door panel trim pattern.
  4. Yup, the body, engine and chassis are right. It's the interior that's different.
  5. That hood is cast from an original MPC 1/25 hood as a replacement for MPC kits missing one. It's about 1/4 inch shorter and about 1/8 inch narrower than the Monogram hood. I just checked the hood from my MPC '68 on the Monogram body.
  6. Turned out great. Love the color on it.
  7. Looks great. BTW, no need to apologize for pics, I think that's what most of us are here for.
  8. The MPC part will fit,, see my post right above.
  9. That's no '68 GTO, it's just the same Monogram '69 with a '68 nose and back bumper. If you really want to build it as a '68 though, the dash from the MPC '68 annual will fit right in. In fact, you might need to file the sides down a smidge, the Monogram 1/24 dash is actually a touch smaller than the MPC 1/25 piece. Thing is, the sew pattern on the seats and possibly the door panels is also completely different.
  10. That's a good kind of problem to have Steve. We should all be so fortunate. It's also nice to hear of a good kind of problem on here instead of some more of the darker stuff in the past few years. I'm shure you'll figure out a fitting solution to the problem.
  11. , , , and of course the Trumpeter kit.
  12. If I may through my 2 cents in, I've been using LMCC for my plating for a few years now and have been very happy with them. The cost for a rack the size shown is about the same as the price of a current kit plus shipping. ,, which is a bit more for me being in Canada. Turn around time was quite reasonable.
  13. Looks pretty good to me. I know it's not exactly a "factory stock" build but ,, from the factory, the door arm rests and all of the steering wheel would be black. Nothing wrong with the way you did yours though if that's how you like it.
  14. Looks like some of the interest's worn off of the topic Mike. Maybe it's because you mentioned my name.
  15. Check this out Ron. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/thecurrent/the-current-for-september-27-2018-1.4840460/this-man-made-1m-investing-in-cannabis-but-expert-warns-it-s-a-lottery-1.4840643
  16. Looks great. The decals really bring it alive. BTW, those "standard hubcaps" you took off that promo were actually an optional turbine style wheel first offered that year.
  17. AMT made annual kits of the Monte from '70 to '72. Here's a link to the auction a few weeks ago on that kit. looks like it went for a pretty reasonable price too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-ANNUAL-ORIGINAL-VINTAGE-USED-1971-CHEVY-MONTE-CARLO-3in1-MODEL-CAR-KIT-w-BOX-/173561857626?nordt=true&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137
  18. Kari, here's a link to an e-bay auction you might find useful. It's mostly junk but if you look directly below the red AMT Willys front end there's an original '71 Monte Carlo front bumper and grille piece. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Large-Model-Car-Junk-Yard-Duster-53-Ford-Nomad-Galaxie-Lots-of-Grills-Parts/202450461710?hash=item2f22fce40e:g:-XMAAOSwze5brDXi
  19. Looks to me like the headlight trim on the '71 and '72 is squared up more than on the '70 too.
  20. Looking good so far. Filling in the front fender bumper area really makes the front start to come together. Intrested to see you do the rear window and sail panel area, Should be interesting. I've owned a couple Rivs when I was younger but not a '70. [ a '69 and a '72]
  21. I think the '70 wasn't kitted because all the sheetmetal from the doors back is completely different than the '66 to '69 cars, not just the wheel openings. Plus a new, larger rear window. It would have been a major retool to the body for a 1-year only design.
