  1. Very nice. I really like the wheel choice and color combo.
  2. Finished up the interior today. Same paint as the body but without the pearl and dullcoated. Just some flocking on the floor, foil on the dash and basic detail painting with a bit of faux finish painting for the burl wood.
  3. I find it confusing that some people will complain that a model company will issue a kit with the parts from other versions of the kit blocked off but also complain when they issue a kit that dosen't block off the extra parts from other versions and leave them in. [not meaning you personally Cale]
  4. Foiled up the trim and added some detail to the cowl.
  5. Actually, if you compare them side by side you will see that only the roof and door skins were the same. All the rest of the sheetmetal was altered from '63 to '64. A lot more than just new front and rear ends ,, not to mention a different interior. But, Yes, definitly would like to see the '64 back. I cant think of anything it could have been modded into.
  6. What's the windshield from? Maybe someone here would have one they could trade to you or maybe even give you.
  7. I think the only way to go would be get an earlier MPC Fox hatch and bash it with Revell's '90 notch. MPC DID make an '87 GT, which would be close but you'd still need the LX grille, tail lights, etc. I know the MPC '79 had a set of rear window louvres and a couple issued after had them too but I don't know how many. I don't think the "wild breed" or later ones had them. The Tamiya mid-'90s Cobra-R has a 5 bolt version of those wheels, maybe someone does them in resin?? Hopefully, someone else with more knowledge will chime in with more info.

Beautiful paint. I like the big Magnum 500s too.
  9. I have Louis on my e-mail contacts list and just fired an e-mail off to him. Last time I heard from him he had moved but hadn't set the plating equipment back up. I don't think he bothers with it any more but I hope I'm wrong.
  10. That's some nice conversion work. I used to own a 1/1 '78 Nova coupe, I didn't think the rooflines on the 2 door and 4 door were that close. Looks very correct.
  11. Not perfect but I can live with it. Scale Finishes Pontiac Meridian Turquoise with a slight pearl green/blue pearl midcoat and Testor's clear.
  12. Yea, I think I know what you mean.
  13. Guys, I'm pretty sure the engine in the Monogram Red Baron kit was tooled up with the rest of the kit and not cribbed from somewhere else. In fact, I'd bet my entire stash of show rods on it.
  14. If you're looking for the larger diameter "pro touring" style wheels I'd suggest looking at some of the larger scale die-casts. Some of them have huge wheels but the scale difference between the 1/16 and 1/18 diecasts might get you some wheels in a good size for the 1/16 scale kits.
  15. I'd think the engine from this kit would be a good place to start.
  16. I've been kinda thinking that myself.
  17. Here's the pic he was directing you to. You said "fenderless hot rod" in your post, you didn't specify "roadster"
  18. The front bumper and grille of the AMT kit has more pronounced "V" to it and possibly has more of a forward lean than it should. The original comparison article in Scale Auto back in the day said it had a bit of a "Buick" look to it and I agree with that statement. Other than that, it's a typical AMT kit of the day. I think the Revell kit just has a more crisp feel to it.
  19. Got a new knife set at the local shop. Just what I've been needing.
  20. Look like you could just use some sheet plastic .
  21. Wow, was it really that long ago ?? Time flies indeed ! As they say,,"Time flies like an arrow ,, fruit flies like a banana."
  22. It was released a few years ago but I don't think it's still in production. Reproduction decals for several of the versions were available form various aftermarket decal makers. The "KISS" and "A-Team" vans were AMT.
