  1. You could graft the front part of the Elky or M.C. frame to the Chevelle chassis plate if the frame rails line up. IIRC, I used the M.C.s engine in my Beaumont with the underhood sheetmetal from the Elky. I'll post up the Beaumont in the under glass section for you Scott and I'll explain about what I did for the conversion and adding detail to the kit.
  2. This is how I dealt with the taillight issue.
  3. Most people will know the song "I go blind" as a Hootie & the Blowfish song but it's from the self-titled album of 54-40 9 years earlier. "The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead" from the movie "Dumb and Dumber" was done by the Crash Test Dummies but was originally done by brit new wave band XTC. And Rascal Flatts did "Life Is a Highway" for the movie "Cars" ,, Originally a Tom Cochrane hit that spent many weeks at 1# in Canada.
  4. Poor. The wheelbase is longer. So is the wheelbase of the '67 mentioned in an earlier post.
  5. The engine in the kit is definitely a big block. The real Warlock pickups could have been had with a 440 in them. Hopefully, next time I post about this one it'll be in the under glass section.
  6. Just mounted the engine, box and cab this afternoon. Starting to look like a truck. The roll bar will be black semigloss. I'll make a matching grille bar for the front and mount some lights to them. I know the engine is the wrong colors for a stock truck but I never said it was stock anyway, right. The air cleaner is from the '74 RoadRunner kit.
  7. I'd think an original release would indeed have less "wear" but the kit in your pic is over 20 years later than the original. In all honesty, from your other posts that I've read, I doubt you'll like this kit.
  8. If you know the convertible, this is exactly the same kit with a hardtop body and without the new tires.
  9. Finally got the front suspension done. Had some breakage problems when I was making it poseable but it's all worked out now. Also finished and installed the interior. I think I may have to raise the back up a bit more yet but it's about where I wanted it.
  10. IIRC, The hood door in this kit is supposed to be the "Super Bee" style, not the flat air grabber style. So, no, the part you're looking for isn't in there.
  11. Sorry, I just gotta go with most of the other guys. Just easier and more cost effective to just cast the lights and drill out the openings. That way you could just have a couple headlight molds that coule be used with whatever grille you want instead of needing a seprate mold for every different model you want to build.
  12. maybe so but as with any ALPS printed decals , Keiths are a mat finish and easily damaged. Even if you only clear them before cutting and using then it's good to have them protected from handling mishaps. Yes, this will make them glossier but very few factory decals were dead flat like ALPS decals come as printed anyway.
  13. I never had a problem with clearcoating any of his decals. This T/A has several coats of Duplicolor laquer clear on it. I've done several cars with it.
  14. Gluebombs rock !!!
  15. That's one sharp Riv. Great color. Nice that you separated the stock front bumper from the rest of the stuff molded to it. It's only the second one I've seen that done to.
  16. Also, the inner wheel wells in the bed are slightly wider than the stock kit. Kinda "mini tubbed". IIRC, the suspension is lower than stock too but I may be mistaken on that point.
  17. The back bumper of the '73 wagons is completely different than the other full size '73 Chevys. So, you'll still need a back bumper and tailights. Usually that will mean buying a complete car anyway. The gold/brown one is the '73. , , with the blue a '72, pinkish a '75 and burgundy a '76.
  18. X-22 clear acrylic in the bottle. Thinned with rubbing alcohol.
  19. seemed like a pretty simple kit to me.
  20. Been working on this one. Tamiya acrylic black with their clearcoat. This is strait from the airbrush. 4 coats of clear wetsanded with 4000 grit between coats and no polish yet in this pic.
  21. Now that's a kit I've never seen built before. seen the MPC/ Airfix version but didn't know Revell even did one. Looks exactly the same which is kinda disappointing as the real car looks much better than the kit versions. You did a great job on the kit though and the color you chose suits it perfectly. Looks like it would fit fight in on the original Battlestar Galacta serise. BTW, the real car was built in 1976.
  22. I wasn't sure about that grey when you first painted it but it sure looks good finished. She's beautiful.
