Revell 1956 Chevrolet front bumper issue
Can-Con replied to Kenmojr's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Best thing to go would compare the Nomad part with the sedan part Ken. Like Greg said, it was corrected when the sedan was issued. All of those had the correction and all the Nomads after that also got the correction. I'm pretty sure the Nomad you listed was the last issue so would have the correction. -
No, not the whole chassis. It did share the hotrod Chevy engine and some of the suspension parts like the axles and wheels but didn't share the main frame etc. I should add, that was only the hot rod parts that were shared between the kits, not any of the stock parts.

I dunno guys, that Aurora kit just looks "odd" to me. The back window and grille are the worst offenders. Just can't get around them. The front fender openings look off too.
-
From the pics I've seen of built examples of that kit, despite everyone clamoring for one, I thought it looked as bad or worse then the '70s AMT version.
-
Very nice. Even though the '71 is pretty common now you never see a '70. Super job detail painting those wheel covers.

OK, that looks fantastic. I have one of their Toyota Cerumo Exiv kits. I started it but the decals disintegrated on use. I don't think it's age that gave you problems with your decals. My kit was new when I started it around 20 years ago. -

There's no date on the article but I found this,, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2023 class, with seven inductees making the final cut as performers: Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine, and the Spinners. Half of the nominees were excluded (Iron Maiden, Joy Division, New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, A Tribe Called Quest, the White Stripes, and Warren Zevon) and can try again as early as next year https://www.vulture.com/2023/05/rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-2023-inductees.html#:~:text=The Rock and Roll Hall, the Machine%2C and the Spinners. -

Pretty surre you don't have to worry about it Ken. IIRC, the problem, too wide header between the bumper and body, was corrected before those were issued. -
I'm very surprised to hear that considering I don't have any yet. But it's not for lack of trying. ?
-
Welll,,,I could tell and I'm sure a bunch of other people on here could too. Compared to the kit body, the roof of the actual car has much more curve to the top of it over all the windows. not as blocky, much more graceful. Note that these cars have stock bodies, not modified.

I think he's right, Snake. It doesn't look malignant to me.
-
Very true Robert, but it dosen't say it on the new box. I only have the 2 in 1 issue myself. They all seem to have the same engine/tranny assembly. All the chassis and engine seems to have come directly from this kit,,
-
Exactly how I feel about it too.
-
So, Snake, is that how old you are or "your favorite summer" [Brian Adams reference there if you know the story of the song] ? Hope you and Mrs. Snake have a great day !! ? ?✨???
-
I just checked my 2in1 kit and there is a separate brake/clutch pedal piece, but strangely, no gas pedal. The "hot rod" parts in it are exactly the same as the new release.
-
No need to apologies to me Guido. I'm just sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. I'm in Eastern Canada, "Atlantic Time Zone" so I'm one hour earlier then the east coast of the U.S. It was almost midnight here and I had to hit the bed. ?
-
I did. He said it but didn't show where it said it.
-
I don't see that anywhere on the box. Buddy says it says that on the instruction sheet but he doesn't show it. I don't have that reissue of the kit so I can't confirm.
-
Um, arn't they exactly the same kit? ?

That's pretty complex looking kit but you did an excellent job on it. Very impressive. I picked up the Hasegawa 767 curbside kit in the same livery last summer and even though it will be my first attempt at one of these race cars I'm looking forward to it. I think that full kit you did would be a bit too much for me to tackle. -
That's pretty wild Mike !! ?

If your looking for a set of bare rally wheels like in Gregs pic above, get the ones from the MPC '75 convertible kit. They're much better then the ones included in the AMT ZR-1 kit. The ones in the AMT kit are too shallow and the slots too small. Here's a pic of the MPC wheels. -

I don't think anyone's mentioned the little hood scoops for '69 'Cuda 383 and 340s. They've never been included in the kit but very similar ones were included on the MPC '69 Camaro as a custom option. I did have a set from the Camaro but after a move and 3 floods, there they are,,, gone.
