  1. No, all I got was the artwork.
  2. It did. I had two tips printed back then. One about making headlight lenses and the infamous "spoon test". ? They even sent me the original artwork from the articles using my tips.
  3. Cool. I tried airbrushing it once last week and it didn't work out for me as good as strait from the can but I'll give it another try following your example, hopefully mine will turn out as well as yours did.
  4. Looks like your having great success airbrushing the Revell product, Dusty. Are you thinning it and if so, with what?
  5. Looks fantastic. I'd pass on the panel liner, it looks perfect the way it is. ?
  6. Of course, always best to do a good job from the start.
  7. Thanks Dan.
  8. A few more pics. I glued the engine bay to the body and cut it from the chassis plate so I can eliminate the seams where it connects to the fenders and cowl. Also trimmed the rear wheel area for clearance of the tires. Wheels are from the AMT '55 Chevy sedan. This is about where I want the ride height.
  9. Steve, in this case the damage is already done. Len's trying to smooth out the crazing. The BIN can do that.
  10. Yes, at least 50/50. I'd even go thinner if it's still ruff. BUT it does wet sand out super easy after it dries overnight.
  11. I have already messaged Dan and asked him to delete the thread.
  12. Modelhaus went out of business several years ago, Ron. The owner retired.
  13. Joe, I did not start this thread as a comparison of chrome products. I don't give a flying fig about the other products. I only started this to show the stuff as many people wanted to know what it looked like. I now wish I hadn't even bothered. This is definitely the last time I EVER do a post like this. From now on I'll just do my thing and keep it to myself. This has gone so off-topic in my view that I'm seriously thinking about having a moderator remove the whole thread.
  14. Wow, that's a lot of work, Ron. I think if it were me I'd try finding a rebuildable annual or resin copy of the body and back. Motor City Resins used to do them for 35 bucks but I don't know if he's still in business.
  15. Steve, when you say "later winter 2024" do you mean February/March-ish 2024 or the end of 2024?
  16. Charlie, the exact same thing happened to my wife last year. I don't know what all was actually involved but she had to send Facebook pics of 2 pieces of ID to prove it was her and she was eventually able to get it straitened out. That said, she did abandon that account and set up another one as she no longer trusted it.
  17. But you gotta understand Jeff, they're not critiquing your choices, just expressing their own preferences. And like-minded builders will sometimes post in agreement with them. Has nothing to do with you, although sometimes it will feel that way.
  18. My Trans Am had a slightly oversize factory style stainless steel exhaust in it. Seems to work fine. I was looking at a '69 Riviera years ago where the dual exhaust didn't clear the back bumper, it shot the gasses up into the back of it. The rest of the car was solid as a rock but that bumper was completely rusted out from the fumes and humidity from the exhaust.
  19. One of the big fires in Nova Scotia was caused by someone's wheeler catching fire.
  20. Maybe your thinking of a different Mustang kit, Alan. The AMT '66 coupe is proverbially "old as dirt" and I'd know as it's as old as I am. ? It's a pretty simple kit based on the promos. One piece chassis and the rad wall is just one piece also. Shouldn't be any fit problems.
  21. You forgot the AMT Ford Taurus. It first came out in what,, '88 or '89? A few years before the Revell Chevys.
  22. I went out of my way to find one of these units for my Trans Am. Had it fully serviced and an AUX jack installed so I can play my phone through it if I want. Funny thing is, when these were new everyone took them out,, "factory junk" and replaced them with aftermarket units from Radio Shack or K-Mart. These were actually better quality then 90% of the units that replaced them. Delco always made a great radio and the cassette mechanisms GM used in them were made by Blaupunkt.
  23. it turned out great, John.
  24. The boot for the Eldorado is indeed flat, as Bill says. I made the one for my '74 Caprice with sheet stock covered with some masking tape for texture. I also did a hard fiberglass "parade boot" the same way but with thicker plastic. The real Caddy and Caprices used the same convertible roofs and boots Here's a few pics of the Chevy,, I never did paint the parade boot to match the car so it never got used. Note the filler piece added between the rear seat back and trim panel. This is the correct shape for these boots. Also remember, the windshield on the big GM convertibles has rounded top corners, not squared off like the hardtops and sedans.
