  1. I still want to see pics of the actual kit so I can make a decision on if I want one.
  2. Revell has the molds for a bunch of nice engines: Chevy 409 from the Impalas, 427 from the Thunderbolt, Ardun, Cad, Blown Hemi. Would that not save cost by not molding another engine? Why not add one or two. Give us a choice to put something different in. The next release of the kit, add something different. Sorry, the SBC is just to ho-hum
  3. I was speaking of the stock car version. Has a stock body with all the trim, but there is a hole in the quarter for the fuel neck, and there is no scoop. With the interior from the Promo/Johan, and Chassis from the stock car, a very nice kit can be built.
  4. Thanks... I think the build was about 2 weeks working for a few hours before bed while watching TV.
  5. I like how you kept the shock towers. These builds are fun.
  6. Wow, I have one and it looks pretty good. Chassis I did not like, but it is an old MPC mold
  7. get the snapper, cut the hood out and cast it. The scoop is not that easy. I tried and failed miserably.
  8. They also had a 72/73 Torino (not Gran Torino) It was the base model car. I had one like this after high school, but it was metallic pea green. Had a 351 with a 4 speed, and it was a four door. Wish I still had it. Fun car to play on the street.
  9. Ya missed a few things Dave, the Johan Stock car needs the gas filler hole filled on the rear quarter, and the hood does not have the scoop that the Sports do. It does have an accurate frame and suspension for a stock build tho.
  10. Awesome!!! I want some too!
  11. I never liked freestyle.... just a way to tear up the trucks
  12. Build it! Dare to be different. I had a guy at a flea market get pissed cuz I wanted to unseal a vintage kit that I was interested in. I finally laid my money down and said "If it what it should be in the box, I'll take it. If it is not, I am taking my money" I opened and it was what it was supposed to be. Then he went on to tell me I "destroyed" the value. I just looked at him and said "I'm building it, I do not care" And as an FYI, the factory shrink wrap can be duplicated.
  13. Looks really nice! Different color that the norm. I get your drift about some of the builders here. Makes me look at mine and say "It looks okay" at times. Lately, I have moved away from detailing to much. Just takes so long and get's me in a rut
  14. I'd build that metallic orange car. I'd paint the backside of the body orange, white or maybe silver. Would be cool on the shelf.
  15. I did read it, but still a funny "WTF" moment
  16. none.... all atrocities This is more like it
  17. Those guards are pretty simple, easy to duplicate. Not a deal breaker. I like the no guards look. Wish all kits were like the AMT 56 with them separate.
  18. Here! Get this instead.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-COWL-Hood-ONLY-Dually-Truck-Chevy-3500-Pickup-AMT-1-25-Part-used-painted-Bv-2-/371347241276?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item567605393c
  19. The Customs, Rancheros and Wagons had bumper guards. The Fairlane series had no available guard.
  20. Stopped at a flea market and saw something I liked, but it was going for auction later in the day. I went back and got this Maverick promo car for $10. Picked up 10 quarts of Castrol GTX for 14 and a great working Aiwa surround sound stereo for in the garage for $5.
  21. I want this version
  22. The Firestone truck parts would work also.
  23. Typical Coroda..... looks good
