Even though I may be called a rivet counter or nit picker, I know I started the big "flaw debate" here because I was displeased with the look of the 57 Custom. Well, there has always been something funky going on with the front of the 57's I have seen built. Well, I believe I have located the source of the funk. Not sure if I should point it out or not if I am correct. I posted a pics wanted ad in "General" to try to prove or disprove what I think the issue is.

In the kit review section I critiqued the 57 Ford Custom pretty hard pointing out flaws that I hoped would be addressed on the Del Rio. I've seen a lot of built up Customs and there was always something bugging me about the front end. Well, I think I finally pinpointed it while helping my dad on his 57 Fairlane. What I need is a pic of a built up 57 Custom. Pic needs to be straight on in the front and level and a level 3/4 front/side view to see if I am correct. Thanks

Great job! Ya won the pole first time out. I have one on the back burner. Been thinking of doing full detail and plumbing, but as I looked at reference photos I am rethinking it. Would take me a year to do.

Is pointing out apparent visual flaws really considered bashing? Reason I ask is because I pretty much was the one that pointed out the body issues. Will it keep me from buying one? No, but it will keep me from buying several.

Do not feel bad about the little paint problem. I am working on a GTO that has been fighting me all the way. It is in the Purple bath for the 4th time! Keep plugging along, it looks great so far. You painting details will stand out nicely when finished.

It is a 2 door, guess they modified it to a 4 door.... They came as a Road Runner also

She's clean, underneath looks like the hood. Love the stupid thing and it gets 39 MPG on the road, more if I keep the speed down a bit. Now wears Contour wheels

Really? Something happened along the way then. The slotted wheels were included in my Coddington American Hot Rod edition and they were perfect.
