  1. That would give you the best outcome I believe
  2. 57 and 58 could be purchased "heater delete" A Custom 300 with heater delete sold on the Barrett Jackson auction. Note, no hoses on the engine. This car was built from a very dry, no rust '57 Custom from California. The engine was taken from a complete but rusty '57 "E" Code. Every piece of it was still intact including the air cleaner and carbs. No parts were added, but totally rebuilt and restored. It has some very hard to find NOS parts such as the radio, heater and clock delete plates and the heater block-off plate.
  3. The mold line is actually not bad to remove. A lot of material to work with. I removed mine with really good results. Trim with a knife, sand and smooth. I went with a fine foam board, then wet sanded with 400 then 800. Try not to sand all the way to the front corner. Use ultra bright BMF on the sides, trimmed near the front corner with the line of the bumper. Then rub the heck out of the BMF with your shirt or a sock. A tiny bit of polish may help, but I I just rubbed it. Nobody will notice unless you point it out.
  4. LOVE those Sq Birds!!!! All based on the Ford Fox platform....the Model T of the Era........I owned 2 Fairmonts, a LTDII wagon and a Mercury wagon like the LTDII......all rugged simple cars. Electronics the only sore spot......it killed my LTDII when it went down and took EFI and IGN with it. But I had paid $900 for it and we used it for 5 years trouble free......she did her job!!! I had an 83 Lincoln Versilles do the same thing as your LTDII. The throttle body FI and crank trigger was junk. I removed all of it, even the computer. Installed a carb and old Duraspark and the car never gave me another problem.
  5. Love it. Have never built a resin kit, but looks like I have to now.
  6. Another great build....
  7. It sure looks nice, Cannot wait to see it done. The body looks better than than coupe. Wish they had fixed the windshield and added a flathead from another kit.tho.
  8. Those would be optional in 57, even the heater. Sounds like Revell used the basic Fireball Roberts dash. I think the Keith Marks decals has the items you want though
  9. Nothing new here. When Revell came out with the 49 Mercury, Round 2 reissued theirs. I was fine with AMT releasing their Merc after Revell cuz the Revell kit sucks.
  10. Yes, it is a 55, but was the best pic showing the trim I could locate.... My '54 Skyliner I purchased a few years ago.
  11. If it is going to be a dark color, fill the quarter dimples. They appear on both sides. I did one in black and was sorry I did not. Love these old boats.
  12. That dimple was not too bad to fix. Love this kit! Have not done the custom version yet tho. Can't wait to see this. Subscribed
  13. My daily driver is a 33 year old Thunderbird. Good on fuel, easy maintenance, Have not had any issues at all. I do keep an ignition module in the trunk "just-in-case" She just gets a good douse of oil before winter.
  14. For what it is, it is nice. Wish it was a full detail kit tho
  15. Ironic part, the Revell kit "looks" identical. A comparison is in order.
  16. My response to Mr Sexton would have been "Well, the 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 63, and 64 Chevies were already done and very available still." Between AMT, Lindberg and Revell/Monogram you could only buy/build 49,50,53,56,57,60,61,63,64,65, and 66 Fords. If you want you could include the AMT 70 Ford 4 door in that list. You forgot the 69 Ford........ Also, How many Camaro kits we need? Mustangs too, other than a new tool 71-73, I am good.
  17. My response to Mr Sexton would have been "Well, the 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 63, and 64 Chevies were already done and very available still."
  18. Get some styrene and add the piece at the top of the quarter. Will finish it off nicely.
  19. where is th "like" button
  20. Personally... I like the taillights
  21. Just give me the boot and uptop... if separate side panels, give me both (and rear seat) The well........ well well well...... the conv well with a cover for the HT. Minor modifications gave Lindbergh a 53 Ford Conv after the Victoria.
  22. Why not hardtop kits with convertible options?
  23. Sorry, no luck on a funny car...
