  1. Love the green!!!!!
  2. Cool.... Dated kit but builds to a nice looking kit. Do a lot of trial fitting. The interior tub does not sit in the frame flat. The issue can be sanded out pretty easily. I trimmed off the flat piece on the top of the floor (above the rear end) and sanded the interior corners to sit the tub into the floor pan more. I believe I sanded the top side of the trans cross member also. Made a big difference This will help keep the body from sitting crooked and the floor hanging down to low below the rocker.
  3. Looking great!
  4. This is a great looking kit. The roof bow does not look like something that could not be easily dealt with. I will need a few of these.
  5. That is sharp
  6. The kit and options are good, but the body has a whole lot to be desired. I did not even consider fixing it. The 2 kits I had, the bodies went right in the parts bin..... This was one kit I was severely disappointed in
  7. I'd be happy to deliver empty barrels in that! Very nice
  8. Pics of contents?
  9. I think Kevin asked about the stacks, but I wondered also.... I thought a bug got on your interior... til it walked across my screen. This is looking very very cool.
  10. I received a chopped up 57 Ford body
  11. They interchange. I bought a pro street 70 Super Bee for the chassis and used an MPC Dukes Charger chassis under the 70 for a shelf model.
  12. I believe the cage is leftover from the 75 (possibly earlier one tho) version that could be made as a stock car. If it is there, I am happy. Very versatile cage that is easily modified to other kits. I like the separate flares and spoiler, with some work on the side vents and hood, could be a plain Firebird too. Direct reissue of a kit not made for quite some time? I'll take it As for the tires, I like those and the wider version (found in the Goon car) for builds that I want a matching but wider rear tire. I'll get one or two.... maybe I need a 79 roundy round build.....
  13. Is it possible Codi is photo shopping a real car onto his workbench? Wow!
  14. I have one of these that helps by taking tires and playing on the floor with them til I need 'em HAHAHA
  15. Centering the engine..... be sure not to attach til the body is mocked. Centering to chassis may not center with hole in hood. Should, but does not mean it will. With a similar kit, I drilled a hole in the block about where a mount would be and ran a piece of styrene thru and glued it. Painted it the same as the chassis. It sat on top the frame and when the engine was where I wanted it, I cut the ends off the styrene shaft to fit between the frame. I cut it a tad long and then sanded each side with a slight bevel.
  16. Classic.............
  17. I want that Cleveland engine, It is beautiful! Put it in a 32 Ford or a Jag XKE
  18. All I know is that I want this kit....... Minor flaws.... not an issue. Major visual flaws..... Well, I will correct at least one. As for super detailed kit, I could care less, as long as it looks good and accurate visually. Good example, AMT 66 Mustang. Old tool, lacking details, but looks good when built.
  19. Not any criticism but an FYI's.... the valve covers are upside down and on the wrong sides. The plug holes should be at the top and the square end always goes in front (as you have them) Also, the distributor is in the coolant hose location. The relief cutout in the timing cover is for distributor clearance. . "I think part of the problem is that fact that the heads weren't even with the ends of the front cover, (they were significantly lower)" I have had that issue and filed the top of the timing cover to match the head. I may try your way on the next one. Looking great. I am working on the Pontiac and did a lot of trial fitting and mods to get it right. Old kit, so I am not complaining about it tho.
  20. Thank You I did notice that on the Del Rio..... trying to figure how to fix it. Shhh....
  21. Thank you Charlie, it is very appreciated. The corrections using the AMT donor was not too bad. Maybe 4 hours total work time from cutting to paint Work on this has stopped til I have a camera to get better pics. I have another Custom on the way and am painting the same color OOB, and will get side by side comparisons. I am chopping another AMT for that one, but plan to cast the panels for future builds so I do not need to chop up any more. I will document that build with better pics. I am half tempted to mail a corrected body to Revell with a letter stating that this is how it should look. I am a jerk like that.... HAHAHAHAHA I have a Del Rio chopped up here now, they did some work on the front fenders, and other than the body line looking better, the wheel opening is grossly over sized... again, I personally was disappointed.
  22. The rear is different anyway. Fairlane series only. Width wise it is good tho. Just would need the AMT mount
  23. Really? most should have worked. Granted, you need to trim out the lower front fenders for the roll pan, but the width is fine, I just checked on a Del Rio. My AMT bumper fits the custom fine, but I an using the valance from the AMT. The paint is Krylon Blue Ocean Breeze Gloss. Light primer first, wet sanded primer with 1500 wet. After, 3 light coats then a wet coat.
