Well, I visit resale/antique shops, garage sales and flea markets all the time. Was out of town for work and saw a resale shop and decided to stop for the heck of it. Finally had some luck so I had to share.... AC Cobra was built nice, nothing missing, little clean up and on the shlelf MPC? 1970 Mustang, scoop and rear bumper missing, built pretty well, not painted. Clean up, on the shelf til I want to rebuild 40 Ford, open and complete, engines assembled nicely. GTP Mustang, sealed Everything cost a whopping $35. I think I did okay..... finally! Anyone else have a good story about a resale shop or similar?

As for removing the exhaust, I have not done the 65, but did a 55 Chevy... A lot of trimming with a knife and then careful sanding left me with good results. Inner fenders on Fords from the factory were a semi-gloss black.

Because he had it, it is a challenge, and any good builder can make something from a dog kit. I love seeing what I can do with them. Keep going Jeff, looking good

This should help under the hood. Black engine, aluminum intake. R code XL's would have bucket seats and poverty caps were standard. Good there. The one thing not addressed is all R code 65's had headlight covers. So to be correct, you will need to fabricated them.

Looking great, I always loved the looks of a 56 Ford. Little advise, add the trim to the top of the rear quarters from the crown to make it "complete"

That looks awesome but please do not put any Revell based 57's on the trailer unless you correct the bodies. They will look wonky next to the AMT's The AMT's are closer to correct.

Looks great!! And you are right about the side windows. Revell made the trim om the door and 1/2 too thick. That trim is merely 1/64 thick on the top. The bumper guards are hideous and incorrect and removing them is a PITA. Best thing for this kit is what you have done.

Exactly... As long as it looks correct, I am okay with it. To many new kits just look wonky to me, so to see these old kits come out makes me happy

I am going to build it and put it on the shelf. Unlike many newer kits I have seen, when displayed it looks right. Dash is okay and if I want more correct door panels, I'll print some pics from google and glue them in. done. Not going to complain about a 50 year old kit/mold, but an incorrect new kit is ridiculous.

This is one I do not have yet, so it is a must buy. I will probably graft an AMT GM stock car suspension to the front just because. I always thought the tires were too big IMO and used Monogram stock car tires instead. These printed ones will look great on some pro street builds I am doing.
