  1. I just bought this kit and plan on doing a custom. I like what you did with the front too. Very nice
  2. Great job on it!
  3. 1964 Galaxie with a worn out power steering assist. Had the ball and socket attaching the pit man arm to the assist cylinder and it was worn pretty good. Hit a hole the wrong way and it would pop out of the socket. Pull over, put a floor jack under the assist and "pop" it back in place. Loved that car....Especially once I fixed the above issue
  4. I am in for the General and Ford for sure.
  5. Goodbye money.......
  6. I think the Supernatural Impala is a good choice for Round2. Much of the tooling exists, just need the body and interior mainly. Hopefully it does well and they will continue this type of trend. Tell me, don't you think some re-tooled kits would do well? the 66 Mustang with a fresh chassis and interior, then maybe a fastback? How about their 63 and 64 Impalas with a nice chassis? 1951 Mercury based off the 49? Just thoughts of "New" kits by adding different things to existing kits. Just a thought
  7. Well, I am pretty sure they will be taking my money.......
  8. Great to know. Yes, I clear coated the chrome on a '49 Mercury and it yellowed on me. Granted, this kit was done 30+ years ago. Can the acrylic be painted over enamel? I have a kit I cannot find the orange I want in lacquer but will need cleared. The other color is white.
  9. Wow... that looks pretty nice. Good job
  10. Has anyone clear coated over kit plating with no yellowing? I want to clear my Texaco tanker to keep it from dulling or wearing off over time. Any suggestions?
  11. Shopping at Ollies I found an AMT tanker..... in the isle with the kids games. Any suggestions on clear coating the chrome tank?
  12. Sorry man.... and I did not list everything, just the major things.
  13. #1: the roof looks squashed. #2: the windshield is too flat, there is not enough "V" in the center. The shape is also too square at the "A" pillar #3: the rear window is too flat, needs more of a bow to it. #4: the sides of the body are flat and "slab sided" 49-51 Mercs have a nice smooth arc on the side and the rocker panel rolls under. The kit is too boxy (you can see the arc of the body on the purple cars fender skirt) #5: the 52ish headlight bezels are too square shaped and not tapered. The front face of them is about a scale 1 1/4" thick (Taper is best seen on the green car) #6: The hood is too square in front and the body lines on it are too sharp and totally wrong. (Best seen on the green car) Of all these things I noticed when I opened the kit, the body just went in the trash.... The time I would spend trying to fix it could be spent chopping the much nicer bodied AMT Mercury To anyone that likes this kit, kudo's, just not my cup of tea fixing so much.
  14. Interesting thread and views. Leaving Palmer out, I have been able to make something that I was pleased with out of every kit I bought except one: The Revell 49 Mercury. There is so much wrong with the entire body that there was no fixing it. I was able to remove the rear 1/4 window frames for future use, but the remainder of the body went in the trash.
  15. Coke, Pepsi, Ex-lax....... Do not care... Glad to see it released
  16. Well, I drive a few, but here are what I consider my "daily's"
  17. That is an awesome build! I love it. Where did you get bumpers without wings? I hate the wings.
  18. Looks good to me. Working on the same kit
  19. Wow... there is a lot of detail there. Nice job
  20. We need this in 1/25 scale along with the LTD II Sport
  21. Great job. I love this old kit.
  22. Looks really good!
