  1. I've had that happen to me before! Did you contact the seller about it?
  2. Great build of one of the most beautiful car designs ever! Stealthy and sexy looking at the same time!
  3. One word "Awesome"!
  4. I like it!
  5. Sweet looking Corvette! Great choice for colors and the tires really set it off! Also great to see one built as a small block version for a change!
  6. Did this one from B&W pictures I had seen and my memory of the hulk of a car that was behind the VW shop I once worked at. It was the owner's late brother's car that he drag raced in the late 50's and early 60's before his untimely death. He had used the 348 out of their dad's wrecked 58 Chevy and when I saw the car it had been pretty well trashed and most of the glass gone, interior destroyed and engine missing the intake and left to the weather.
  7. The King Of Surf Guitar passed away at the age of 81. Seems that he pretty much toured right until his death in order to keep up with his mounting medical bill from chronic health issues. One of the guitar greats in my opinion! Godspeed Dick Dale.
  8. What a beauty ! Looks perfect !
  9. Love it ! I owned that exact car in 1:1 !
  10. Great start ! I built this one when it was first released ! The decals are a real pain but came or well !
  11. Here are the ones from the 66 Elcamino.
  12. Rich, even though they are not in the "official" records which the guys at Chevelles.com hold as gospel there were cars that were produced from the factory that are not reflected in their bible. I went round nd round with them when I was over there because I had a 1969 Chevelles Malibu WITH a factory big block and even had the documentation (ie build sheets and order forms from the dealer) because I was second owner having bought it off an AMC used car lot where the original owner traded it in! He ordered it new from the dealer with the 396 (actually the 401) 4speed with a 12 bolt posi to use to pull his two horse trailer. It was like they had took an SS and put all the Malibu interior and exterior trim and flat hood on it in place of the SS trim. But seeing I had sold the car back around 1978 I no longer had any of the paperwork. So because I could not produce it they screamed foul and said I was wrong (some said liar)! My wife's Uncle worked for GM for almost 40 years and he told me about a lot of oddball cars that were built in factory, some for execs and some for special customers. One he confirmed for me being a 1954 Chevy Belair with a 265 V8 factory ac and all power accessories! I asked about it because I picked that car up from a GM warehouse in Detroit and delivered it to a collector down near Henderson Kentucky back in 1989!
  13. He was what they call a natural as changing role types seemed to come to him easy. That makes them hard to work with and they tend to burn out over time. It led to drug and alcohol problems for him ad we can see the end results. It is sad that such a good actor has to end this way. First time I ever noticed him in anything was in the movie "Tribes" and then "White Line Fever" and "Hooper"! Then picked up on his other roles in TV series and bit parts in other movies.
  14. Took me over a month due to weather, health issues and many other obstacles but got the first one of 2019 done! Pretty much out of box. Cleaned up the tires removed the leftovers of the front inner fenders and added some bars. Cut the interior bucket down so the rear seat cover fit down into the tub. and added the missing down tubes for the cage and raised it to a better position Made exhaust collectors with a straw from McDonalds. and added a filler fron the radiator support to the grill. I know these old kits are far from real but they make me feel 12 again when I build them!
  15. Called in more prescriptions to Walgreens. Ceck to see if they are ready and the two that are are showing 427.98 and 107.98 !!! Just like last time I'm sure they tried to send it through an old insurance instead of the newest one! Three times we have taken in the new card and they said it was fixed and this is how well they evidently DIDN'T fix it! They have 5 differen't insurances in their file and I said just take them out except the new one and they say they can't!!! Bout ready to change drug stores!!!
  16. My hat's off to you for such a wonderful build! It is evident the amount of time and work that went into it! Luke the Landy figure with his trademark stogie too! I remember well watching him make his pass with his cigar in his mouth the whole time!
  17. Unfortunately he isn't the only one to get burned that way. Live and learn.
  18. Talk about building the obscure! That is a beauty Tim!!!
  19. A big non no here is starting arguments with other members and or trying to discredit others abilities or knowledge about things. Sure, disagreements happen but to prolong and instigate more on top of what is already there, rather than just agreeing to disagree and letting it go is a thing that can tear a site apart. The member in question was one that practiced this regularly and it is sad because he is a really good modeler and has a lot to offer to the hobby but like a lot of talented people has an ego too big to handle. Richie, just look at the forum rules and follow them and you have nothing to worry about. That from one that has learned from experience!
  20. Godspeed Pete....
  21. Just saw that he has passed away at the age of 57 years young. He was awaiting a kidney transplant but unfortunately it was not to be. A great loss to the art world and Nascar history.
  22. I remember seeing some that had a dull light cover of body color with primer showing through in places. Like has been said a lot depended on the plant that built it. My 69 Malibu had good cover around the outer edges and faded towards the middle.
  23. I remember the Pactra paint at 15 cents. A couple years ago I sold the last two bottles I had I found in an old tool chest I had quit using ! Guy offered 5 bucks for them ! One metallic blue and the other metallic green, still had the price stickers on them and were still good! Had a bottle of a weird purple color but it had dried up.
