  1. Happy New Year fellow model builders!
  2. This is the first year that none of my kids have given me a model for Christmas! Instead I gave two to my one son who has rekindled his desire to build models and I probably will sell him a few that he has been drooling over that are OOP! (at cost) Going to thin the car collection of unbuilts down to ones that I have that are of 1:1 cars I once owned or ones that I have to replicate long lost builds from the past. I have a whole upper closet shelve full of semi tractors I need to get on and one end of the closet is full of trailers to go with them!
  3. All one has to do is look at how the cars (I use that term loosely as most seem to more truck like) are marketed these days! Very few use "family" as the selling point and instead show some well dressed man or woman putting the car through it's paces on an open stretch of road with no other traffic! (what a fantasy sequence!) I love going to you tube and watching the old car ads of people shopping for the "family" car!
  4. Tonight bean soup with the ham bone left over from Christmas dinner, homemade cornbread with fresh honey and butter!
  5. No, they ( the jeeps) won't go away, just rust away faster with each new year!LOL Love that Crown Vic!
  6. Yep! Year finished of I'll have couple that will be finished in 1979!LOL
  7. The same thing crossed my mind too!
  8. I have this one on deck. Had to repaint it and need to find drag decals for it.(and a couple others)
  9. That was just how the one at the sod farm I worked for fell! The bands are what causes it to do that. We coiled cable around the bottom about half way up the first section three times and then used a Cat 988 loaded to pull cable tight. At first looked like it was just going to settle down and stay upright but then slowly started that slide as it started to crumble! Those old silos were built to last 100+ years!
  10. Maybe in need of a drug test?
  11. To you and yours a very Merry Christmas and best of all in the New Year to come!
  12. Merry Christmas!
  13. Merry Christmas!
  14. Hope you all had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  15. We were watching grandkids having a great time!
  16. Looks great! Love the color!
  17. Didn't think it would either. Usually pop one and they steer clear of my yard after that. They come out about 4 times a year and trap them. They remove 100+ kittens every year and put down about 30 cats who are diseased. They neuter or spay older healthy ones ear notch them and return them to the area. Kittens and young adults the put up for adoption. I along with a few neighbors were trapping them and calling the local shelter but they quit taking them. Now the park calls an outside no kill to do it.
  18. Te wife feeds the songbirds. She has a feeder that looks like a barn. Had to put a squirrel guard on to keep the rats with bushy tails from emptying it in a matter of an hour and then chewing holes into it when no more would come out.(first one destroyed) She looks out the window this morning and say "oh look at that beautiful cardinal and just as she says it a feral cat (we have hundreds out here it seems) came flying through the air taking the bird off the feeder! Wife screams and then cusses like a sailor on shore leave! I break out the c02 pellet gun borrowed from my son, crack open the back door and squeeze off 4 shots at which the cat jumps about 6 foot into the air with bird still in mouth and lands in the neighbors yaed and doesn't move! That thing worked better than I thought it would! Moved it out by the curb and about a hour later the maintenance lady was cruising through stops and tosses cat into her truck bed. and moves on! Guy next door won't fix his underpinning and about half a dozen cats live under his trailer.
  19. I didn't exactly see it on the road, it was in the back of a dually pickup at KFC and I didn't have my phone!!! But boy did it bring back some memories of one of the first bikes I owned. One of only two that I ever saw and it took two years of begging to buy the one I had and another year to get it on the road!! This one was a 1948 and mine was a 1955. I saw a 1948 Ariel Square Four!!! For those that do not know it was a British Bike the company was bought out by BSA and the stopped making them after 1967. A real beauty of a bike! The one I just saw was red. I have a stock photo off the net of a 1955 that is almost the exact one I had and wish I still had!!!
