  1. Last night, fried pork chops, mashed potatoes with gravy made from the pork chop pan leavings, peas & carrots and a hunk of Gouda cheese! Mandarin oranges for dessert.
  2. I painted them rubber and scrapped off the black on the ridges to make the double stripe whitewalls!
  3. Thought I had a set . These look similar but there have a directional arrow on the tire and have the outline lettering on both sides and say Good Year Eagle ZR40 and VR50.
  4. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving DAY! Had a great day with our three boys and wives as well as 5 of our youngest grandkids! Wife made her famous bean salad and 5 pies from scratch!Apple, cherry, blueberry and 2 pumpkin! The daughter-in-laws put together a great meal! Best thing the doc put me on a low dose anxiety med and I for the first time in a long time I felt good all day with no chest pain at all!
  5. Saw my family doctor yesterday who assures me after consulting with my cardiologist and looking al all my tests that I do not have any cardiac issues and am not in any danger of having a heart attack or other cadiac event. The chest pain he says most likely are from the reflux and Barretts and muscular skeletal pain from being somewhat sedentary and too much time sitting at my work bench and computer. Said unless I wanted to be back on steroids or pain meds the best suggestion would be getting out and walking as much as I can and to lose about one preson's worth of my weight and I can agree with that one! Said it would help with my hiatal hernia and my blood pressure issues and with my hypoglycemia. Said a lot of the light headedness is due to drops in my blood pressure because of the bp meds and water pill that I'm on which also slows my heart rate especially when I'm sitting for extended periods. The cardiologist says the chest pain the day I went to the hospital most likely was because my heart rate slowed and then skipped a couple beats when it picked back up and then raced to get the pressure back up. Told me to cut down one of the meds to every other day. At least I can go to thanksgiving at my son's with worrying I'll drop off in front of the grandkids!
  6. A real beauty! From an era of clean uncluttered paint schemes that looked good!
  7. That is a sweet looking "what if" build!
  8. Just beautiful! Saw this one in action what seems like a lifetime ago! To me that was the greatest era of drag racing.
  9. We have Direct TV right now and ATT internet. Getting ready to cut the cord so to speak and go on antenna. Not worth the cost as 99.8% of what we watch is from local stations we can get on antenna!
  10. My wife made me click onto this thread to prove that it really was about cars!!!
  11. I've had several do that the last few years. I think they have bad batches sometimes. My issue is that it now takes forever for their paints to dry! I was told though it is the EPA's blame for that.
  12. Sad news as he was one of my favorite entertainers, one of the few I actually had the pleasure to meet in person years ago. He was one of the most musically talented men in the business. Highly underrated in my book. Godspeed Roy
  13. We have seen this with some of our other doctors after the change in healthcare laws and doctors started leaving private practice and becoming what I call "company doctors" and become part of the hospital or clinic "group"! Now half the time you only get to see the doctor if the "PA" thinks it is necessary to. (unless you are like my wife and raise nineteen kinds of heck until they get him! LOL) I don't know if it is everywhere but the doctor can no longer "direct admit" a patient to the hospital. They have to send them to the ER where that doctor reviews what your doctor diagnosed and then upon the ER Doc's check he makes the decision of whether you meet the 5 criteria that is now required for admission. Usually if you aren't in dire distress or half dead they put you in outpatient observation first.
  14. My hat is off to those brave fly boys that do that for a living! Knew a Pilot from Wisconsin that used to do that. Flew a C-119! Had pictures of it in flight making drops and with him and crew next to it.
  15. No Nick, I have faith in our Cardiologist! If it was not for him sending my wife to Northwestern for her last open heart in 2012 rather than letting the local surgeon do it here she would not be here today!(that right from his mouth) We dang near lost her up there so would have here for sure! My wife had an appointment with him Monday and she told him what happened and he went right back out and she could hear him chewing the other Doctor's but out and then telling his PA "I never want to have him covering my patients ever again!" the came back in and apologized for what had happened. Got a call this morning from the Doctor himself reassuring me that my tests were all good and he would discuss where to go from here on my appointment tomorrow.
  16. Happy Birthday Carl!!! A day late.
  17. Tom, for about 2 years I fought with Jack about every night and guess what? He always won. It is a very easy bridge to cross as I have crossed it myself and for the life of me cannot remember why, but had enough sense left to get back over to the other (safe) side and have never looked back! We have a daughter that is fighting demons of her own right now (pot, opiods & crack according to her daughter) and is always calling for money from us, her brothers, her kids and uncles and aunts and I have told them all DO NOT support her habit for her (and her husband who got her started). Hard to hear her claim she is starving when we know what she really wants money for but we just keep telling her when she proves to us she had gotten straight then and only then will we try and help. It is tough to tell your kid no even when it's something like this but important to when it is something like this!
  18. The flu season is upon us! Hope you get to feeling better soon.
  19. and when he isn't out racing he's out rolling out asphalt for the local construction company! That is some serious meat under the rear of that long roof! I love it!
  20. Love it! Perfect color for a beautifully designed car! One of the best I have seen of this kit built!
  21. Great to see this one built! One of my favorite movie cars!
  22. Our oven quit and the repair guy said igniter was bad, no joy. Said gas safety valve must be bad, replaced, no joy. Then he comes back in with a multi tester checks something then announces that the control pad is bad Antilles me it would cost more than the stove is worth. Told him we would just buy a new one. He writes up the bill and it was for almost 450 bucks! He wanted to charge me for the parts he installed that didn't fix it! Said he had to because they were already installed! After a very lengthy argument that my wife ended by informing him I had just got out of the hospital for chest pain and asked why he didn't test the power from the panel first he relented and removed the parts and charged us 75 bucks for the service call! I just love that woman!!!
  23. Lots of us out here!
