  1. I like it! The 61 Impala was one of the best looking Chevys built!
  2. That was built in 1968. I originally painted it candy rootbeer with a big white stripe down the middle but it looked horrible so later on that summer I repainted it green. I altered the high rise dual quad intake I got from a friend and added it to the 427 and had a hole in the hood. Few years later added the hood scoop. Other than that is has never been touched and never will be.
  3. The wife was kind of bummed out. She still has the issue of Play Girl with him in it! I can remember him as "The Comanche" halfbreed blacksmith Quint on Gunsmoke!
  4. I built this one in 1968 and the only thing change was the addition of the hood scoop. This one was built in earlyto mid 1980's I guess?
  5. If I add new pictures in fotki and arrange the new ones to fit in order by the year will the moving of the other pictures mess up pictures alresdy posted to a forum?
  6. Nope, it's the old AMT kit!
  7. Well, I'd say it is more like a convertible forces you to detail an interior more carefully than you normally would!
  8. It was just Testors rattle can red enamel.
  9. The box was on the decal sheet. I just cut it out and glued it!
  10. Simple little kit but was a fun build back when I did it! Used the hubcaps from a 66 Galaxie and I did toss out the Chevy motor in the kit and replaced it with a 302. (Would have pictured it if the car wasn't buried somewhere in the closet.)
  11. This is a recent build. Got it for Christmas so had to build it. While I was not into building convertibles I think I could learn to like them!
  12. The key is a whole lot of test fitting before gluing!
  13. Looks like it was dragged out of the river and then new ties put on and made to run!
  14. Krylon Appliance Bisque if I remember right.
  15. This kit sat around for quite a while. I tried to trade it, sell it cheap even at a yard sale and no dice! Then one day the wife saw it sitting and said "I bought that one for your birthday three years ago, you should build it!!! So I did and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome!
  16. I remember that happening very well! Especially the guys with the custom vans! The white letters on passenger side now looked like a wide whitewall. They would come in for a tire repair because it had a slow leak and I would spray the soapy water onto the sidewall and tell them to stand there and watched while I took care of cars on the drive or went back to oil changes or repairs. When I would come back after 10 or 15 minutes the whole side of the tire would be foam! They just couldn't figure out that once it reached the cord it would leak and the only fix was a new tire. I refused to put a tube in as many asked for!
  17. Really nice looking build!
  18. That is a beauty!!! Great color!
  19. Those are the Firestone Wide Ovals fron te 67 Fairlane kit. I just filled the groove with red paint! The line is really a bit too far out on the sidewall but it was what I had so went with it.!
  20. This little gem is called "Ella" because my granddaughter Ella picked the color and how it was to be built when she was about 4 or 5 years old.(9 now)
  21. Pretty much an out of box build with wheels from the parts box and an SS hood that I traded the stock hood for to another builder that wanted to build a stock station wagon.
  22. Kerry, that is just plain wild looking! Looks fast sitting still!
  23. Original IMC kit that was partially built and pieces lost or broken over the years in storage. Finished it a couple three years back with the help of a parts kit bought off ebay! The body was painted a long long time ago with Testors red paint.
  24. Built to resemble cars I saw race years ago at Santa, O'hare and Raceway Park back in the mid to late 60's.
