  1. That is just what that car needed! That would be a cool option in that kit next time around except not many would know what it is!
  2. Old school look with a modern twist under the hood! Another great looking Hornet!
  3. Built a few years back.
  4. I have rebuilt several garage find guitars. One a early 70's Harmony that a member of my sons band had planned to destroy. Rebuilt a ups Fender knock off Jazz Bass for my son. Currently have a DIY bass kit that seems to be a cross between a Jazz and P bass that I found at Goodwill for 25 dollars!
  5. Used to use that technique back in the 60s & 70s on 1:1 cars using plastic lace table cloths!
  6. Just like in the 1:1 world never will see two buggy the same!
  7. Nice quick build! Glad to see a Ford power plant under the hood!
  8. Sweet buggy! Thanks for sharing it with us! Always wondered about the glitter blast paint, now I need to use it on a car!
  9. Must be the thing today. I know three people here locally that do photography and they have all said the same! They all have more work than they can handle!
  10. My hats ARE SIMPLE AND say one of 4 things. US ARMY NRA SMITH & WESSON GREEN BAY
  11. Richard is so right that it is a pig of a kit! Terrible flash and misalignment of the dies. I have had this one on the bench for a month now, have to keep walking away from it lest I''ll smash it! Took a week on the body to get all the parts to line up and finally got paint on it. I built this kit decades ago and though it wasn't the greatest at least it built up fairly easy!
  12. Nice work! It is apparent a lot of thought went into this build and it paid off in spades! From the side it looks sort of like my HHR!
  13. Great looking Bug. Don't care how you build them Bugs are just cool! The only other things I see that could add more realism are the tin work would have been semigloss black (more like flat black buffed out a bit), the muffler would have been just rust brown or flat gray with rust(new were flat gray) and the heater boxes were always rust brown.(new they were flat gray) I wish they would have had the option of the bumper guards though in the kit.
  14. I owned one of these back in 1983 and I am still kicking myself for selling it!
  15. I actually gave it a thought but then decided I would play it safe!
  16. I was looking into what I could use that would be closer but couldn't find anything that looked like the anodized like color. So went with what I had.
  17. Just good old Testors Bottle paint. 1144 Gold over testors flat black. Shook the bottle for about 20 minutes with the help of two grandkids!
  18. Had a friend in Wisconsin that had a 64 Impala SS in maroon. Looked great!
  19. Yes the Honduras Red is a solid color. I spayed it to check. It is the color I used on "Isaacs" 57 Chevy.
  20. Steve, I could be wrong on the red. It is a metallic paint that I used. Evidentally must have used it all as I have no others in the cabinet. It may have been Burgandy Red Metallic.
  21. Steve, the tires are the kit tires using the Firestone decals that came on the sheet. The red is Model Master Burgundy Red Metallic and the White is Testors One Coat 1833 White Lightning it is a pearl white. Both shot over white primer.
  22. Nice clean stock build!
  23. This was a "Honey Do" as my wife loves 55 Chevys! Still have a hardtop to do for her too! Was a fun kit to build!
  24. Painting black is my least favorite but this one turned out pretty good for Rustoleum!
  25. GUMBY!!! They have GUMBY!!! Oh man I wish I could be there! Even my grandkids love Gumby!
