That was an original kit my son picked up at a year sale for 5 bucks a couple years back. The orange almost turned day glo!

  4. An old kit started then put away for about a decade then finished a couple years back. Basic out of box build, nothing special.

  8. I looked at the picture and thought to myself, "that has to have a Detroit in it" and then I read the intro! Just seemed like a natural home for one! Wonderful build!
  9. Great weathering! I almost can remember seeing that tractor sitting in the bone yard years ago! Neglected old truck always make me sad. I try and envision what they must have been when new and wonder the stories behind them!
  10. Have they been able to keep the lights on for you down there? I know it seems to be a really big issue because of the poor condition of the power grid prior to the hurricane. Had a neighbor who's son was down there trying to help.(woks here for ComEd) He was there for 5 months until he got too sick and had to come home! He dropped 30 pounds while there. Said he was spending most of his food money on the poor little kids that were hungry.
  11. Heard on the weather Channel today that the Big Island has seen up to 4 foot of rain ! That is hard to to even visualize!
  12. The cars of the 30's thru the 70's were sculpted works of art. You could see the heart and soul of the creator in the design and it was all pretty much done by hand! Now they have all this high tech stuff (cad) at their disposal and can't come up with anything that does not have any appeal other than that of a jelly bean! They can claim all they want that they design for comfort too because I have yet to see a car that does not seem to be built to hold anyone over 5 foot tall or weighing more than 120 pounds!
  13. Hey! That guy was the singer and guitarist for Procal Harum back in the 60's! Robin Trower! Somebody's Calling I believe the songs title is!
  14. Yeah, but life sure would be boring without one once in a while!
  15. WOW!!! Fantastic save!!!

  17. I lost a cousin and one heck of a great guy on the USS Forrestal so I won't go there. Neil Simon was a great play write. May he rest in peace.
  18. It's a pretty obscure song (except maybe to Monkees fans) but I think one of their best penned by Mike Nesmith!

  22. and I'm still searching for a grill and taillights for a 55 Plymouth Belvedere.
  23. Yes on the seats. The center seat is smaller. The original kit I had the front wheels were the same as the latest issues!
  24. Nice looking Caddy long roof! I hope it is bagged or it may wind up stuck in the sand sitting that deep in the weeds!
  25. Bare Metal Foil and the quarter windows were a headache to do!
