  1. Excellent work on this! Love the gearing and the patina look! Dave
  2. Thanks for the nice comments guys! I know some would think this as sacrilege, but I mean it as a tribute to the Corvette and I am trying to do it justice. Dave
  3. WOW! What a wild build! I love it. However I doubt this would fit in a normal sized garage. ? Dave
  4. Very nice first car! I love this year Impala. This one is a watcher! Dave
  5. I puttied, sanded and primed three times and here is the body.
  6. You have done some incredible work! I like the corian vacuum molds. It's just so pleasant to watch the progression. Keep up the fantastic work! Dave
  7. Thanks! it will be in primer soon! Dave
  8. Thank you! The ‘55 stripped easily, the ‘60 is about 50 or more years old and the ‘69 is almost that old. The paint is almost part of the plastic. I will sand it all smooth before I prime. Dave
  9. Thanks! All it takes is an idea and a dremel!! Dave
  10. I had a wild idea the other day so I acted on it. I had a large pile of Vettes so I thought I'd mix them up a bit. I took a 1955 a 1960 and a 1969 Vette and decided to combine them. I'm not sure how it will come out but I'll give it a shot. I liked the front of the '55, the side panels of the '60 and the rear of the '69. I cut the '55's front off from the top of the front fenders back to the firewall, I then cut the '60 side panels along the same route, I also cut off the rear of the '69. I had to narrow the '55 front to fit the '60 panels and added them to the '69 rear. The window pillars will need adjustment. It's too many colors at the moment but its about to go into a primer. That will show me where to start puttying. Not sure what engine I will use or if the wheels in the pics will stay. All constructive criticism appreciated. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Dave
  11. Its nice to see a monster truck as an old pick up truck. Great job! Dave
  12. Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Dave
  13. I thank you for your nice comments. Cutting the body wasn’t really hard I located the middle and drew a line, then figured out how wide I wanted the body. I then measured half the distance and put a piece of tape along that line and did the same for the other side, then I made two cuts to remove the piece between the tape. After that I sanded the edges smooth and glued a piece of flat styrene under both pieces to hold them together. Then came all the puttying and sanding I’m sorry to say that I took the tires from my tire box and don’t know what model that came from. Dave
  14. Thanks for your nice comments! I really appreciate them. Dave
  15. Nice paint color! Very clean build. Dave
  16. Fantastic job on this one! Its perfect! Dave
  17. I finished it! Total build time 32 hours. I narrowed a 1959 Imperial about an inch and cut off the front. I added a firewall from the parts box. All other parts were either from the parts box or scratch built. The exhaust pipes are hand made from aluminum wire and tubing. The paint is a 3 color process. after the primers I used a flat black, then a metallic silver sprayed at a distance so it lightly covered the black, then I used a Duplicolor Metalcast red anodized spray over all that and four coats. Then I polished it out. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Dave
  18. WOW!! This is amazing! I love the paint work. Dave

  20. Your build is looking great! I like the heavy duty tires. The boom I made for mine is slightly over scale. Dave
  21. Thank you for your nice comments. Dave
  22. Thanks! I’m glad I inspired you! Dave
  23. You seem like you are on a great route. Start with what you like and move on from there. Anymore, probably in the last 12 years or so I don't build from the box. I usually create something that I see in my head and look for bodies and parts. Half the parts I see in my head I don't have so I challenge myself and make the part. I have lots of bodies that are missing parts that I harvested for other projects. Dave
  24. NNL East isnt something you want to miss. Its a really great model show and swap meet in Wayne NJ. I went there for almost 20 years. About 45 minutes from Plainfield. Theres also a show called Super September Showdown in Gilbertsville Pa (obviously in September). https://www.superseptembershowdown.com/ About an hour and a half from Plainfield, NJ Dave
  25. I did some more work on this one. Testing out a grille, getting the stance correct, working on the interior and getting the paint color down. Dave
