I finished it. I can say that this isn't my best work. Have you ever been working on a project and by the end nearly lose interest in finishing? This was one of them. I decided to take three years of Corvettes and try to make one out of them. I used a 1955 a 1960 and a 1969 for this build. Being that all those years are different this was the challenge. My intentions were to make a tribute to these years and in no way did I mean to desecrate these works of art. Please do not take it that way. I took the upper part of the 1955’s fenders the front headlights, hood and grill. Then, I always liked the side panels (as well as the rest of the car) on the 1960. The T top and the rear of the ’69 is beautiful, so I decided to use that. I also like the mid ‘60’s Stingray Vettes but it was way too complicated to incorporate parts from those as well. One of the issues was the different body style of the ’55 and trying to blend it with the other year pieces was a bit of a challenge. Also, which interior and chassis would I use? The interior from the ’55 and ’60 were too wide but the ’69 was correct (with a few modifications). This was the same for the chassis. I also wanted to use the independent rear from the ’69. The dashboard was a tough choice but the ’55 won but I needed to narrow it. I always like the ’69 wheels so I used them (although the rear is up a bit too high). I added some side pipes that came from the 427 power plant under the hood. The paint was a flat black with a light spray of silver and 4 coats of a transparent blue over top followed by a couple coats of gloss and then polished out. This build from start to finish took 32 hours. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Dave

Excellent work on this! Love the gearing and the patina look! Dave -
Thanks for the nice comments guys! I know some would think this as sacrilege, but I mean it as a tribute to the Corvette and I am trying to do it justice. Dave

WOW! What a wild build! I love it. However I doubt this would fit in a normal sized garage. ? Dave

You have done some incredible work! I like the corian vacuum molds. It's just so pleasant to watch the progression. Keep up the fantastic work! Dave

Thanks! it will be in primer soon! Dave

Thank you! The ‘55 stripped easily, the ‘60 is about 50 or more years old and the ‘69 is almost that old. The paint is almost part of the plastic. I will sand it all smooth before I prime. Dave

Thanks! All it takes is an idea and a dremel!! Dave

I had a wild idea the other day so I acted on it. I had a large pile of Vettes so I thought I'd mix them up a bit. I took a 1955 a 1960 and a 1969 Vette and decided to combine them. I'm not sure how it will come out but I'll give it a shot. I liked the front of the '55, the side panels of the '60 and the rear of the '69. I cut the '55's front off from the top of the front fenders back to the firewall, I then cut the '60 side panels along the same route, I also cut off the rear of the '69. I had to narrow the '55 front to fit the '60 panels and added them to the '69 rear. The window pillars will need adjustment. It's too many colors at the moment but its about to go into a primer. That will show me where to start puttying. Not sure what engine I will use or if the wheels in the pics will stay. All constructive criticism appreciated. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. 1966 Chevy Monster Truck

I thank you for your nice comments. Cutting the body wasn’t really hard I located the middle and drew a line, then figured out how wide I wanted the body. I then measured half the distance and put a piece of tape along that line and did the same for the other side, then I made two cuts to remove the piece between the tape. After that I sanded the edges smooth and glued a piece of flat styrene under both pieces to hold them together. Then came all the puttying and sanding I’m sorry to say that I took the tires from my tire box and don’t know what model that came from. Dave
