Hi all: Im looking for a clear, that has metallic/glitter in it, but in a bass boat style. Yea, I know it might not be in scale, but it will be appropriate for the build Im doing. Any one know of such a paint? Short of that, is there a way to reproduce that effect? And I guess I should add, it needs to be compatible with Tamiya acrylic paint. Thanks in advance Jeff

A big thanks to all of you that commented. I do appreciate the support. -
Thank you all for looking in and the comments. I really do appreciate them, one and all. @Rich- Your right, I messed up. Its a Lindberg kit. Thanks for pointing that out. Everything Ive built lately has been a Revell, I just assumed....oops. I will correct that

Here's my rendition of the Lindberg 67 Olds 442. Paint is Tamiya Metallic Orange with Tamiya clear. Scratch built parts include back 1/2 of the exhaust system, coil springs, throttle linkage, throttle return spring and their brackets. This was my real first attempt at weathering on the chassis Aftermarket parts are Fireball Model carb and door handles, Model Car Garage P.E. set, Clearly Scale disc brakes, Best Model Car Parts license plate. Tires and wheels came from the '62 Chevy Impala. Thank you for looking. Any comments or questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below...(sorry, to much utube ?)

I pickup this kit at the Philly NNL and challenged myself to get it done before NNL East. Approx. 90 days. Got it done with a day to spare Built mainly from the kit, with a few exceptions. The hood is a resin piece, from Lex's. The tires, wheels and brakes are from the Foose F-100 And the exhaust system, except for the muffler is all scratch built. Paint is Tamiya metallic gun metal with Mr Hobby clear. Feel free to comment. Thanks I was thrilled I got it done in time and very happy with the results.

Nice build, Bruce. I really like the theme, decal layout you went with. Very clean!

I did a set of bumpers using the Green Stuff world. They looked really great just after I sprayed them. I let them set, undisturbed for a week. I gently eased them into place, and they looked ok. But I have noticed, now that they are about a month old, they are no longer as shiny as when I sprayed them. They seem to be slowly turning to polished aluminum.

Excellent build, James. Very clean!

I can see why you only get 1 build done a year, The level of detail is outstanding. Congratulations on a very fine build. Now you gotta stop doing those 4 wheel skids, you flat spotted all your tires.....??

When my stash eased across the 150 mark a few years ago, I looked at the reality that Ill never build this many kits in the time I have left (Im 66). So, I stopped buying on impulse. I made a top 10 list of builds I want to do with the kits I already own. After all, they were all bought with a project in mind. I havent stopped buying kits but Ive only bought maybe 10 kits in the last 2 years and I havent bought any in 2024...??
