  1. A very impressive and varied collection. Im impressed with your build quality and jealous you got so many built. ? My favorite is the gold roadster. I love the subtle flames. Could I ask how you did them?
  2. Thanks for the answer, Michael
  3. I want to be a 6...?
  4. Not sure this is the right place to ask this. Please move if its in the wrong place. What is the MCM rating? I have a 4/6. How is it rated or changed? Thanks Jeff
  5. Here is my Bronco, on initial mock up. Fireball suspension, Olson Brothers doors, Scenes Unlimited tires and wheels, motor out of the Revell 90 Mustang drag car
  6. That does look like a cool drill. Are the jaws adjustable, to be able to put small bits in it? Is it battery powered? Thanks Jeff
  7. Thanks guys for the replies. Im going to check him out cause he seems to have the only 55 Buick I can find
  8. It looks a little rough. I take it you never built it up.
  9. Try this place: https://louverit.com/en/ Ive never tried his stuff but Ive heard good things
  10. Has anyone here ever dealt with Star Models? Here seems to have a lot of resin bodies listed, including a holy grail for me, a 55 Buick Roadmaster
  11. I had Verizon for years. Great service but I agree, it costs to much. I went to Visable. Its owned by Verizon, so it uses their system. And its only $40.00 a month. 2 things to add though- you have to do auto pay and there is little to no customer service. So if your not one to try and deal with issues, it might be for you. But over all, I like it.
  12. Good for you Charles. I love it when someone follows their passion. I wish you much luck. Jeff
  13. Sometimes its good to step out side our comfort zone and try new things. Its how we get better I think you did a fine job with this one
  14. You could go to Hobby Lobby and soft beading wire. It comes in several diameters and it takes rebending real well. Just make sure you get the soft wire, not the memory wire
  15. Ive used the Scalecoat with great success. I usually let it sit overnight but Ive seen results in a couple of hours. But it does have a harder time with Tamiya primer. If it is fresh (couple of days) it does better. But if its been on for much longer, it struggles
  16. I have been building models, on and off for more than 50 years. Work, wife, life all kept me from building more than a few hours a week. Especially, in the last few years Id keep telling myself "when I retire, Ill build all I want" Well, the wife has gone by by and I retired in May. One day, after I retired, it finally sunk in that I could build what ever, when ever I wanted. So now I tend to get up early and at the bench by 6:30-7 am and Ill build for 2-3 hours. Then I go run errands, do life stuff and return to the bench mid afternoon to build for a couple more hours. And most days, around 8 or so, Ill put in another hour or so. I have always loved building. But now, I have really fallen in love with building all over again. I so enjoy every minute Im there.
  17. Thanks Mike. I thought that might be the case, but I didnt know where in Fla he was located
  18. Has anyone dealt with Model car Garage lately? I ordered a PH set, paid with PayPal and when it returned me to Model Car Garage site, it said I needed to pay. Tried a few different things, but to no avail. I wrote to them but have not gotten a reply, in almost 2 weeks. This is unusual for them, as in the past they have been great to deal with. Ant insight would be appreciated Thanks Jeff
  19. Thanks Bill. I think, regardless of the type of fenders I end up with, putty will be involved. Ill go looking for the Bondo 801. Thanks again Jeff
  20. Done At some point will we be able to see the results?
  21. @ Ace Garageguy - have a favorite brand that works well for you? @Randy D - Nice choice! I like these. I did find some and am amazed at the difference in price, from 1 site to the next Thanks guys!
  22. Thanks Brian. If I cant find something that I can adapt, I may go this route. I was kinda hoping to not go this way, because the amount of putty that goes into it. Just because of the risk of the putty shrinking. Cool Mustang, by the way!
  23. Thanks Les, I will check them out
  24. @Sandboarder - I have actually test fitted the flairs out of the Aoshima kit that I have. That was another step in trying to do this build. And by the looks of your work, it does make a nice build up without the flares. Taking the flares out of $50.00 kit, especially when that is the look I like, makes it tuff. @Leo64 - I did run across the Cults3D site in my search. Yea, they are expensive and I dont know any people with a 3D printer. Except maybe Shapeways.
  25. @ Sandboarder - I have a Aoshima Liberty Walk kit and that is what started this idea. But Id rather not take the flairs out of it, so , at some point, build it as a Liberty Walk car. @Stitchup - I tried to find Aoshima flairs but was unable to come up with anything? Do you have a link to these flairs? @ Fat Brian - I was looking for more of the "over fender" look like the Liberty Walk cars. @ Ace-garageguy - Thanks for the link. This is the direction I wnated to go. But your link sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole and found other flairs that I like. Thank you all for your input. I do appreciate it Jeff
