  1. The Loadstar that I put an engine in had a regular 345 v-8 in it that looked just like the scout engine to me. I haven't looked to see how accurate the old Ertl scout engine is, but that kit should be a good source for an engine.
  2. This truck has been customized and you could build a similar truck with any 73-80 truck. 81-87 used a different hood and front fenders. The recessed grill would have been earlier than 76. 79-80 had chrome benzels around the headlights and park lights. Some 78's may have, but I know that all did not. 79-80 had a ridge on the nose of the hood that the pre-79 didn't. Silverados in 80 had square headlights. You could take the current GMC snow plow kit, remove the emblems, make a tube grill, and convert it to two wheel drive and make a similar truck as pictured. It may sound like a lot of work, but it would be an inexpensive alternative.
  3. Very cool project!! Nice work! My kind of build!
  4. This is one amazing build!! I like the updated custom look with the updated engine. The detail work is off the charts!! Top notch in every aspect!! Great work!!
  5. I like what your doing with this interior!! Looks great!!
  6. Thanks Guys!!! Thanks Gator! I've had a three size pulley set saved on my Ebay for some time now. It finally listed as almost gone, so I ordered them. They arrived today, all are too small. Evidently, the measurement on the package includes the o-ring. The largest was a couple mm. short of what I was expecting. On top of that, the wheels that I'm using were bigger than I thought. Long story short, I'll either add to these or make some new ones. I should have looked closer. Thanks for the tip. I'm not sure what I'll do yet on the belts. I'm sure that it'll be trial and error. I used strip styrene for the belts on the engine. Thanks again Everyone!!
  7. Very nice build!! Looks Great!!! Excellent Work!!

  11. This may be the best looking Freightliner model that I've ever seen. Your body work on the cab is top notch! Doing away with the wedge brakes was a nice touch. Nice detail work!! The color choice and paint job knock this one out of the park!! The finished product has an excellent vintage look!! I like it!!
  12. Looks Great!! I'm not familiar with these cabs either. What kind of engine will it have?
  13. WOW!! I like what you've done with this one!!
