  1. That is a beautiful build Ken! Excellent work!
  2. The engine is technically a v225 Ford Engine made by Cat. If you look at the valve cover in the kit, it says V225. Jim is right, the V225 was just an 1160 Cat. This would have been early 70s. The 1100 Cat engines were very similar to the 3208 Cats found in later models. I converted (for the most part) one into a 3208 for my F8000 that I am working on now.
  3. Looks great Jim! I really like it! I used to have a 78 short bed 4x4. This one brings back memories.
  4. This one did recast the Monogram 1/24th cab, complete with the groove for cutting out the sunroof. The front clip of the one that Charles built looks a lot more accurate to me though.
  5. Thanks guys! Tommy this one will have a 13 speed. Moving along slowly.
  6. Very nice! I’m looking forward to seeing this one finished!
  7. That looks awesome Ken! I rarely use the AMT hood or cab hinges. For one thing they are backwards and usually require the bumper to be too low in order to clear. They also never line up correctly. I usually fabricate some or use dollhouse hinges.
  8. Words cannot describe how Awesome this looks! You even got the heater in the sleeper. The details are beyond amazing!
  9. That was my first thought too. I’ve worked on a lot of old Buick v-6 engines with carburetors over the years and don’t remember seeing a 1 barrel on any of them. (Could be memory problems though) I have also experienced someone thinking a 2 barrel with the single round upper throat was a 1 barrel. However, I looked it up and Buick made a Fireball v-6 with a 1 barrel carburetor.
  10. Thanks guys! A little more progress on the engine.
  11. My favorite readily available wheels are the 22” from Jamie at Moluminum. He also offers 20” wheels, but I like the 22” better. These are available. If his website says “out of stock” contact him directly. Double Take has started back up. His wheels are nice as well, but I have not caught them in stock. ST supply has them from a couple of different suppliers. These are readily available too. He also bought Scenes Unlimited’s molds, but I am not sure if he has them released yet. You may be able to find someone who has some Scenes Unlimited wheels that they are willing to part with. Clint Freeman made some nice D hole wheels, but they are a rare find. There are 3d printed versions that show up from time to time on Ebay as well, but I don’t have any experience with them.
  12. Thanks Tommy! I cut out the indentions on the back of the cab, started working on the engine, put together a frame out of scrap.
  13. Charles, your work never ceases to amaze me!
  14. You have done some amazing work on this one! It looks great! The details you are adding really puts this one over the top. Excellent work!
