  1. I know that this is an old thread, but I'm glad that it was brought back up. Absolutely Awesome build!!!
  2. The more you let a T-Lite burn down and "puddle", the smaller the flame gets and less heat is puts out. I've went the too much heat rout as well, and I'm sure that I will probably ruin more plastic in the future.
  3. Thanks for posting these pictures Ray. I have been wanting to see a good back view of a tilted Cummins. Not to hijack this thread, but this leads me to a question that I've often wondered. What trucks were the Cummins tilted in? Were Cats ever used in a tilted configuration? I know that I have seen the short hood Road Boss with a tilted Cummins, so I assume that all 92" B.B.C. trucks that used this cab would have tilted a Cummins when used. I also read that the short hood Brockway had tilted Cummins. What about a Ford Louisville, or maybe a GMC Brigadier, or others? Just curious.
  4. Very nice Western Star and trailer! Great Work!!!
  5. That is one mean looking truck!! Looking great!!!
  6. Thanks Dennis and Alain!! Pat, let me begin by saying that I'm not a pro. I have tried many ways of bending pipe with not very good results. I've tried aluminum, both solid and hollow. I've tried plastic, both solid and hollow, with and without heat, but this way seemed to work the best so far. I took a T-Lite candle from my wife's stash. With the T-Lite burning, I rotated the area that was to be bent over the flame like a rotisserie. I heated it slowly, not too close to the flame until the plastic was almost putty like. Bending the tube too soon before it is soft enough results in kinking. Once I achieved the angle that I was after, I held it still until it cooled enough to hold its shape. A few stubborn spots required sanding to make them look right. I was pretty satisfied with all four pipes on this build using this method. This may not be the best method, but it works until my wife runs out of candles. I hope this helps...Brian
  7. x2 He said: "This old Mack will put em all to shame." I always pictured an H-Model, but that is just my creative take on it.
  8. I for one, think that you have done a great job! Looking forward to seeing them on the finished product!
  9. Very nice builds indeed!! I really like the Louisville!! If you don't mind, could you tell how you did the grill. It is about the best one that I've seen. I'm wanting to start one myself. I've already gotten the tanks, but was debating on what to do about the grill. Great work!! I like the faint lettering on the trailer by the way!
  10. This is the coolest version of this kit that I've seen yet!! Excellent work!!!
  11. Looking great!! If you need another decal, send me a PM.
  12. Thanks for the encouragement Rich and Gator! I had been debating with myself whether to go with carpet or rubber mat or something else. Since the passenger seat actually sits on top of the dog house, I didn't want to go with vinyl or leather. I have seen hardwood in a few trucks and liked it. The wood is made by K L MiniSports. I bought it from Dan's Models Plus (dans572012) on Ebay. It was $12.95 for an 8.5 x 11 sheet. The wood doesn't completely cover the sheet. It is pretty heavy paper and it is peel and stick. It was designed to be used as trailer floors. I have used veneer before, but for me it is harder to make it look realistic, like individual planks, even after adding lines to it. It looks more like plywood. Thanks Gino, Sam and Rob for all the encouraging words!
  13. Nice looking Louisville! Great Work!!
  14. Thanks; Gino, Sam, Dennis and Michael!! Decided to work on the interior some today. Went with a hard wood floor board instead of carpet.
