Beautiful Jeep, Mike! I like the small block. The axles in that kit are easy to invert.

Sadly, the box art looks better than the kits. I'd like to have the Mercer and the Jordan.

I have gotten all the parts I have ordered. The Star Resin Suburban Casting is very, very nice. My Build Quality is not as good as the parts I am starting with, but I will give it my best shot. The Fireball wheels and Tires are awesome as well. I cannot say enough good things about Joseph at Fireball and Steve at Star Resin!

Mud Tires for sure. The Most common method of lifting Jeep in the Real World is simply to put the axles Under the springs, instead of On Top of them. But, hard to do with the old Monogram moldings. I owned and abused a 1979 CJ-5 and would like to have had those monster tires, back in the day,

Your Comet Driver and his Gaudy, Lousy build, are exhibit One, for my statement! Stupid, Old Fool. And he goes and admits on camera that he had only Liability Ins! Another rare car, ruined, by an Old Man with no sense of history or proportion, just stuffing an enormous motor in what looks to have been a poorly modified car to try to recreate a 70 year old adolescent dream. And not even the slightest sense that "Hey Maybe I should go straight back the shop and fix this thing" the first time the throttle sticks....... Before they are done, he and his fellow "Enthusiasts" will have hot-rodded, every 32 Ford, Model T, and 55-57 Chevy on the planet, all in a quest to proclaim "Look at ME!, Mine's the Best!", while having parked their car in a row of hundreds of Identical Rods, differing only in Colour, and make of Engine (Ford vs Chevy), yet otherwise having the same changes made... Their children can't afford the cars, when the Old Man passes, and the number of buyers who have the money to pay what the Old Fools think there beloved Rod is worth shrinks every day. ( and, at that, the buying pool is composed mostly of slightly younger 'old fools') In ten years, these Over Painted, Over Chromed Monsters will be scrapped in the dozens, if they are not completely outlawed, by Vengeful "Save the Planet" types. And, you should hear what many of the children have to say about 'Dad's Money Pit" Street Rod!! To say that Dad's Ride is hated is to understate the case. There are exceptions, of course, but some of the stories I have heard! Wow! For every guy who passes the torch to a willing child, there are 3 or 4 who make eternal enemies. No, the Hot Rod Phase will shrink down to a bare nubbin, in the next few years. It was never a Rich Man's Hobby, just an expensive one. (Ever see a Hot Rod at Davos?) So, as most of the current Hobbyists move on, it will simply collapse of it's own overblown excess. (I am 59, so these are supposedly my age cohort)

This is a real Problem, and I hope Moebius jumps on it fast. This kit is too High Profile to let this issue slide for long. I am afraid that many of the buyers for this Ramp Truck are first time Moebius Customers. Not great way to make a First Impression, or encourage repeat customers. I too have gotten warped parts in one of their kits. Nothing Major (a chrome tree), but not pleasing either. It looks like much of this first run of kits, did not get the correct QC. That means a "Do-Over" for them, and it will not be easy or cheap, if I understand their Production/Business Model. ie: The Tool has already had the plastic run and is potentially back in storage, so it has to be dragged out at great expense, and new parts molded. I hope this is not the case. Dave Burkett has to be livid right now!

I have acquired the Following in my quest to build a 'tribute' model. Star Resin Body (the resin body is a Chevy Suburban, so I need to change out the grill) Fireball Modelworks 8 Lug Rims/Tires MPC Deserter Axles/Springs/Drive lines. AMT 1970 Ford Galaxy Police Car Light Bar AMT GMC Jimmy Body/ Grill/ Windshield ______________________________________________ Still Need Decals and a 5 Gallon Water Jug for the back seat. Not sure what I'm going to about the decals. Policecar,com actually has decals for the Genuine Navajo Tribal Police, but the are both newer and much more elaborate than those used in the show. Might use them anyway, as this project is adding up very Fast! The Jug? Not a requirement, but Nice to have. I'll have to see what I can scrounge. I think some of the R/M NASCAR kits had a floor mounted jug in some of the kits. That could work. So Far, I am still excited by this build. We'll see what happens when I get the Resin Body, later this week.

It is a fine line between "Too Much" and "Just Right" I think you have the "Just Right" nailed with the BFGs' Very Sharp Truck.

You might look under some of the AMT or Lindberg Monster Truck to see if you can find suspension parts that might work. Axles / Trusses will be scratch builds, but you might find some other parts to harvest. Good Luck!

Some of those are really neat. Many of the other prove that most top level American Gear Heads have plenty of money, but no brains or taste. A lot of "Answers to Questions" nobody was asking........

My guess, is that the Suburban is a local vehicle that was bought or leased for the series. A couple of interior shots show that it is a re-spray over a factory colour. That would explain the "Just get something up there!" Light bar, and the funky door decals. While a second season has been approved, I doubt any of the production people and transportation captains went into this with much Long Term planning. So, the first truck that looked about right was chosen, and here we are wanting to build models of it! LOL In the backgrounds there are some really neat old trucks, and cars. Lots of 1940s/50s trucks just baking in the desert heat. So far I'm really happy with the show. I'm told though, that episodes 5 & 6 (the last two), should probably be watched together, without waiting a week to watch both.
