Nothing to "get" right. It is the same old 1990's AMT/Round Two tooling. Only things that can be changed are the Decals, and the directions. But, I agree, better a Instruction Sheet and Better decals would be an improvement.

That body is even worse than described! What a Blah, Blah show! No wonder everybody who built one, calls it out as poorly shaped. Very Nice Chrome Tree though. Looks like both engines use the same induction/scoop.

I was always partial to the Un-Loved Small Bronco, the Bronco II. I lusted after one back then. Yeah, Pat, those days are gone forever. Erik Peter's on his Auto blog, had an article explaining why all cars have electric windows and doorlocks now. It turns out it is cheaper and faster to just build every car with the motorized goodies than to shift the build orders on the production line, especially as by the early 2000's the overwhelming majority of cars sold were ordered with the electric windows anyway. That also explains the Trim packages. Easier to just build the car at a fixed trim level, than allow the Ala Carte choices.

You really have the Colour nailed! It looks like so many 'Yotas' I remember seeing back then. There was a time (from the late 1980's, to about the early 2000's,) when these trucks were everywhere in Southern California. About 2006/7 I remember noticing one day, that I saw fewer of them on the roads. Now, sighting one is rare. So far, it looks hauntingly familiar. Great Job. Re, the Diamond Plate Bumpers. Most of them I installed where silver or black painted, not Chrome, These were working trucks for the most part, and the painted bumpers were a cheap necessity, not a Dress Up item. You needed a place to put your foot, when you stepped up into the bed, or stepped down. Especially the 4x4 trucks. You did see chrome ones from tile to time, but mostly you saw battered, bent, twisted bumpers, one end pushed up in a jaunty grin or twisted down in a frown. Rare was the truck that did not have a bumper of some kind. The brush guards in the front were another matter. Unless it was a 4x4, you almost never saw the brush guards. Some Dealers would have a tricked out truck in the showroom, dripping with chrome goodies, Chromed Rollbar, Cibie Off-road Lights, and fancy chromed bumpers. That truck did not get sold too often, as most buyers simply would not pay the mark-up on all the accessories. I suspect it was the same way, were you live. If you watch the very end of the movie "Back to the Future" the scene at the End where Marty has the awesome, 4x4 Toyota truck, perfectly captures, the So-Cal asperation of the time, in regard to a new Truck. Add a Rollbar and some Slicks, and it could be a Drag Racer. You'd have to look at the rules for '66, to see what class it belonged in. For some classes, it might not even need a rollbar, just the slicks. There were still classes for street driven cars, back then.

Add a Lightbar and some Baywatch decals, and you have a perfect Beach Patrol Vehicle!

Now, That is a home Run. Just the trailer alone will sell kits! Combined with the Mod Stock Kits, that have been released lately, this will be a surefire hit!

I had not thought of that swap, Richard, but it sure sounds good. I am currently working on putting the Ardun Flathead from the '50 Ford P/U in the Revell '32 Roadster. I plan on just using the Kit's Axles, but Maybe I'll look for a '48 to rob parts from too. Thanks for the idea!

My 1926 Model T Ford Speedster. My Favorite, although the '17 Kia Sorento, run a close second. The T was stolen in 1993. I still miss it!

"They'd Complain if they was hung with a New Rope", my Grandfather always said. I see more and more of this in people today. It often occurs in tandem with "Veruca Salt Syndrome. "I want it NOW, Daddy!" No matter what Games, Cars, Toys or other consumer products are brought out, there are folks asking for something just a bit different. "It Only Comes in Red, Blue and Green, Sir. "Okay, but Can I get it in Orange?" "It comes in Base, Midgrade, and DeLuxe versions. Okay, Can I get the Base with a couple of DeLuxe Features?" Argh!

Mark, you beat me to it. MOPAR had some truly forgettable and stodgy designs in the late '40's and early '50's. There is a reason they were the number 3 seller for so long.

So, it returns again. I expect it will be a straight re-issue of the most recent "Pepper Shaker" kit? It would be nice if the could open up a few more welds on the chrome trees. There is quite a bit of open space on the sprues, for an ex-Trophy Series kit. Be nice to see some long lost parts return. Either way, though, this kit is popular and always sells very well. Be nice to have it back at Hobby Lobby.
