And speaking of rumors, can we get this Tow Truck back, please? (Without the Cooter Markings) https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/tv--movie/mpc-cooters-tow-truck/ Or even better, this 1970 Version with the Full Fire Truck parts and the Fire/NHRA/ & U.S. Navy decals? https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1961-1970/mpc-1970-chevy-pickup/?view=roll#1

George P. Looking at the M.I. Kit instructions, it is the '69 Cornet Convertible with a T-bird style 2 seat tonneau cover and scoops. Otherwise it looks like the '68 Kit in many ways. Same trailer hitch, ect. The is a different (custom?) grille and some roll bars, but not much in the way of other options that I can see. It looks (to me anyways) like MPC tooled up a scant few pieces and added the them to the '69 Cornet kit, without regard for what the TV Car looked like. The Tonneau cover is the biggest visual change, followed by a hood scoop and two side scoops. So, I'd think that if the parts still exist, an. M. I. Car might be easy to make. If the Tonneau and scoops do not exist any more, it might not be worth it to clone them. Getting Licenses might be the biggest sticking point now to selling with the M.I. branding. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/tv--movie/mpc-1969-coronet-co/?view=roll#1

John, some of the Revell '57 Chevies, will have an extra set of 6-lug Black Widow wheels in them. Best bet is try try to scrounge them from that kit.

Aw, Steve. That is truly an awesome kit, for a "One Version Only Kit". Bring it on, I sez! Throw in the Sweathogs figures, (but don't show them on the box art, and add any other extra Pontiac parts that might be hiding on the sprues. It would have to be better than the recent Californian Toronado kit. That didn't even get a set of optional wheels. At least Round2 could throw in a set of those ubiquitous 5 spoke Mags that are in every 5th kit lately. NO, I'd far prefer the Superfly to the Californian.

Round 2/AMT 1977 Pinto - Super Loser (out of box)
stavanzer replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wonder what else besides the decals, Round2 will add to this kit. Because, frankly, the decals will not sell myself and many other modelers this kit without adding something else to sweeten the deal. It is not that great a kit, and at the new MSRP of north of $30.00 it does not look to be a good choice to purchase. Time will tell I guess, but I am guessing that rabid Coke Fans, far out number Rabid USPS Fans. But, I could be wrong...... -
Boy, I hope to see you proven correct someday, Dave. I'd really like to see that kit come back.

I'm at 275 Right now, at 59. I do eat less. I am on Metformin and Atorvastatin, and some other drugs. I am truly happy your regime works for you, Bill.

Weight. I've been 6'0" and 280-320 lbs for 35 years. It is not just eating and exercise. It is a whole lot more, and if you have tried to keep weight off, and failed you know that it is not just as simple as Eat Less/Burn More calories............. If you have no problems controlling your weight, don't moralize about those who do have problems.

Snerk!

More than a "bit of work" but what a cool Custom.

Bill if you build 1/48 scale early 1950's Jets, you can use the tanker for a diorama with any F-86, F-89, F-100, F101, or even a B-29.

I think it is one of 2 reasons, JIm. 1. AMT Boxing is on the Market right now, while the Italeri version is not in production, meaning it is eBay or nothing to buy one. or. 2. AMT Boxing has fresh decals and Fresh plastic and is more desirable. (and lastly, Newbies who who know nothing of where a kit comes from, just wanting that particular truck)

Steve, I just re-read the entire thread. I have to apologize to you. From what you said, this kit has to be a Racer or Custom/Showrod kit. The various Vans & Sedans that were suggested could be wrestled into stock form somehow, so whatever it is, it should not be one of those. That cuts the guesses down quite a bit, but still leaves a lot of ground to cover. AMT and MPC tooled a respectable number of Race-Only and Custom kits back in the day. It most likely is something that has not been seen in 40 years or more, so that leaves out things like the Barris Rickshaw, and the Tigershark. I'd guess that would leave the MPC Mail Truck, or the Paddy Wagon/Tognotti's T Twins (Yes Folks, they are the same kit from the fenders down), the ZZR/Firebug ( I think the Firebug was the most recent version). Could be the Cosma Ray (an MPC 65 Vette with a custom body) or the Super Teen Firebird(which is so rare as to be Un-obtainium), or the Dick Landy ProStock Challenger. I'll be very curious to see what kit is finally revealed.
-
That's a bit Harsh, without knowing what the kit will be. But, I can be a bit Hard-Nosed myself, so I do understand the reasoning. There are some subjects that might not have a Factory Stock option, but still be highly desirable Between the '68 Vette Custom, the Chevy Ramp Truck, the '64 Olds, the '63 Nova Wagon and trailer, and the this new '68 Coronet. Round2 Has been really hitting Home Runs, so I will be open to what come next.

Boy, I'd like to find decals to build that C&T Stroker car. The one in the famous photo as it pukes the tranny in front of the driver. -

Just be patient, Uncle Scott. He has the kit. It will indeed be very helpful to watch him tackle it. My only gripe is that it needs a better engine. Neither of the two in the kit, make any sense. The Big Fords were rare, and the Caddy was not used much either. It really needed the Hemi, and Atlantis seems to have planned for one, at one point. But, this is a small issue, really and there are Hemi Motors out there for the folks it bothers, -
Well, I called that one. I'll stop while I am ahead. Thanks!
