  1. Great Build! I like the kit, and I am glad Revell tooled it.
  2. I've reached the point where, I have given up really caring, until I see what it is. I doubt it will be anything too spectacular, though.
  3. Not a T radiator, more like Dodge or Chevy, but you point is well taken.
  4. Add some Dealership Sponsor Graphics to the Tow Vehicle to justify the Fancy Rims on the trailer. A dealer (especially in SoCal) could justify the expense of the rims. Rig looks very Nice!
  5. I have the whole series on DVD. I show it to my Grandkids sometimes. Great Build.
  6. This would make a great Heavy Haul Truck for the lower 48, too. I've seen a few Heavy haul Trucks at work, and this one would fit the bill.
  7. We had 5 Parrots. 4 Indian Ringneck parrots (or Rose Ring parakeets) and one large Amazon. We are trying to cut back on things, (Fewer Pets, Fewer Bills) so we had 2 parrots my wife liked and 2 Bonded Brothers who were good parrots but hated one of the first pair. So we could not have all 4 out at once, or there would be fights. So, 4 of these. We sold the 2 brothers to a family here in town who seemed really good with the birds last night. The house is 75% quieter this morning with out the brothers. Even the Amazon is calmer.
  8. I got a Big One for this topic. Late Monday night the Air Conditioner stopped blowing cold air. In California's Central Valley, with 105+ Temps, this is a real Issue. I called our usual A/C Service Company to schedule a visit. I expected that it would be Friday or Saturday, due the the heat and workload. The woman on the phone was very curt with me, and asked if I was a previous customer. I told her I was, and she verified it on her computer. Once she did that, her whole attitude changed. She was able to squeeze me in the next day, on a 1pm-3pm slot. I was happy to be seen next day. Tuesday afternoon, we start clock watching. At, 2:45 I call to see how things are Going, and I am told that we are still on the list to be seen. By now I am having the " Got to have a New Unit" Nightmare, and wondering what the payments will be on a new machine. Keep waiting... At 4:45 there is a knock at the door. A/C guy is here. He goes up, and comes right back down. I figure it is bad news since it was so fast. Nope, It was a blown condenser, he has one on the truck, and he can have it fixed in half an hour, for less than 300.00. Twenty minutes later (told you he was fast) the A/C is blowing cold, and all are happy. Had a cold soda in the fridge for him. He said normally he would not take one, but it was 106 Tuesday, and he was beat. Gave him the Dr. Pepper and he was good to go. So, what was looking to be a 10 Thousand Dollar Nightmare Tuesday morning turned into a fixable problem, I could pay for. I am well beyond 'Pleased' and am now at 'Totally Gratefull' P.S. and my wife sold our two extra Parrots last night to some really nice people! Less mess for us, and happy new owners.
  9. I am building the AMT '68 Custom Corvette kit. I had carefully separated out the small parts from the Body/Interior/Chassis & Chrome tree. I left the Chrome and Body in the factory bags, and started assembly of the motor and smaller parts. I had the small parts in a One Gallon Ziplock Bag. Went to get the body painted, and the bag with all the small parts has gotten lost! Not Sure when , or How, but I have misplaced the small stuff. I've heard of dropping a part and having it go Twilight Zone, but never half a kit!! Tore up the Hobby Room and Garage looking for the bag. No Dice. Going to have to buy another kit. Not life threatening or really costly, but it is an Irk! I figure that I should hurry and get another kit, so that the bag of parts with the Built Engine will show up sooner. Update: Parts Found. Of course, NOT where I thought they would be. All's Well, That Ends Well!!
  10. Is this still on schedule?
  11. Tire Questions. Does this kit have the same tires as the other Ford Trucks, or is there a new, Heavy Duty tire in the kit?
  12. And he is on the same streets as you are, Steve.

  14. Wow, I did not know that. I hope he can cast some more in the future!
  15. Beautiful Jeep, Mike! I like the small block. The axles in that kit are easy to invert.
  16. Sadly, the box art looks better than the kits. I'd like to have the Mercer and the Jordan.
  17. I have gotten all the parts I have ordered. The Star Resin Suburban Casting is very, very nice. My Build Quality is not as good as the parts I am starting with, but I will give it my best shot. The Fireball wheels and Tires are awesome as well. I cannot say enough good things about Joseph at Fireball and Steve at Star Resin!
  18. Mud Tires for sure. The Most common method of lifting Jeep in the Real World is simply to put the axles Under the springs, instead of On Top of them. But, hard to do with the old Monogram moldings. I owned and abused a 1979 CJ-5 and would like to have had those monster tires, back in the day,
  19. Great Build, Curt. I have recently gotten a set of decals for this car, so that I can plan a build for myself. (Huge Thanks to Steve for the decals.)
  20. Oh, me too! I was just commenting that in the pursuit of nothing but speed, the cars are changing, and not always to look better,
  21. But, so much Faster, and more Aerodynamic! And, isn't that what everybody in Racing wanted?
  22. Your Comet Driver and his Gaudy, Lousy build, are exhibit One, for my statement! Stupid, Old Fool. And he goes and admits on camera that he had only Liability Ins! Another rare car, ruined, by an Old Man with no sense of history or proportion, just stuffing an enormous motor in what looks to have been a poorly modified car to try to recreate a 70 year old adolescent dream. And not even the slightest sense that "Hey Maybe I should go straight back the shop and fix this thing" the first time the throttle sticks....... Before they are done, he and his fellow "Enthusiasts" will have hot-rodded, every 32 Ford, Model T, and 55-57 Chevy on the planet, all in a quest to proclaim "Look at ME!, Mine's the Best!", while having parked their car in a row of hundreds of Identical Rods, differing only in Colour, and make of Engine (Ford vs Chevy), yet otherwise having the same changes made... Their children can't afford the cars, when the Old Man passes, and the number of buyers who have the money to pay what the Old Fools think there beloved Rod is worth shrinks every day. ( and, at that, the buying pool is composed mostly of slightly younger 'old fools') In ten years, these Over Painted, Over Chromed Monsters will be scrapped in the dozens, if they are not completely outlawed, by Vengeful "Save the Planet" types. And, you should hear what many of the children have to say about 'Dad's Money Pit" Street Rod!! To say that Dad's Ride is hated is to understate the case. There are exceptions, of course, but some of the stories I have heard! Wow! For every guy who passes the torch to a willing child, there are 3 or 4 who make eternal enemies. No, the Hot Rod Phase will shrink down to a bare nubbin, in the next few years. It was never a Rich Man's Hobby, just an expensive one. (Ever see a Hot Rod at Davos?) So, as most of the current Hobbyists move on, it will simply collapse of it's own overblown excess. (I am 59, so these are supposedly my age cohort)
  23. Great Build. It looks real.
