Looks like it is going to be a right Bugger to paint, though. And the decals look to be just barely adequate. Two piece tires may be the only way to get correctly shaped tires in the kit. All'n'All not an easy or beginner kit. I hope your build goes well. ?

Yes. Seems that way to me. also. Late Summer, everybody is busy else where, I suspect.

Scott, I believe the reasoning behind keeping quiet stems from a couple things. 1. The "Dodge Demon" Fiasco. Rumors of the Demon kit coming back to life started over ten years ago (I believe). It never happened. To this day, there are still people who are upset about this. Round2 took a lot of undeserved grief over this. I suspect that all new product announcements from then on, are carefully weighed, on the chances of avoiding another "Demon Disaster". 2. A desire to have a normal lead time on the kit. I.E. about 6-8 months from first announcement to store shelves. If the 'mystery kit' runs into problems, they don't want to keep pushing the delivery date, while they fine tune the kit. That only generates more friction.(See Moebius for examples of this) 3. "Veruca Salt Syndrome, But I want it NOW! Daddy" In an age where marketing and sales is often predicated on the near instantaneous fulfilment of consumer desires, I am afraid that a large percentage of the 'Buying Public' has been trained to demand new product as soon as the existence of any new product has been announced. I count myself as part of the 'Buying Public' on this count. I am as guilty as the next guy, about wanting to buy a kit within days of it being previewed. So, We just want what we want, when we want it. Lastly, Since many of us grew up seeing large numbers of kits released each year, the comparatively relaxed pace of 'New Kit' introduction with just a few kits per month, leads to a desire for something "New" all the time. A Dopamine Hit, if you will of the new and unexpected, rather than the same old Pleasure Centre being stimulated. Look at much of the collective reaction here to the most recent kit release news. To judge from the Comments, almost all of the kits shown generated just modest interest. Even the comparatively rare Ramchargers Dragster and Transport Truck (seen for the first time in 50+ years) caused little comment. That fact (to me anyways) shows how numb we have gotten to new kits from Round2 especially. 10 years ago, that kit would have generated pages of discussion and hosannas. Now, crickets... So, we wait for bigger & bigger proclamations of New Things. No wonder there is more disappointment when a new kit is introduced, and it is not what "We" wanted. I need to take my own advice, and just settle down and wait. The "New Kit" will get here when it gets here.

Yeah, when that happens, I need to just pony up for one.

If you have resorted to using Monogram Ramcharger Pumpkins/Axles for your F-250 4x4 Conversion, I don't think the 1/25--1/24 scale difference is going to matter to you.

"This is not the Kit, you're Looking For!!" Waves Hand in a Spooky Way......

I want that Sunoco 34 Ford, But all I really want is the Decals. I've got 5 of the older Yellow Lindberg Versions, so, I don't need the parts. If they show up at Hooby Looby I may get one anyhow.
-
I'll disagree with you, Roger. It is always good to see original parts back into a kit. To the guy who does use them, they are a valuable part of the kit.
-
Thanks For posting these, Tim. It really Helps.
-
Alright! Maybe we'll see those parts in this new issue. Round2 has been good about doing that when they can. It will be fun to see if those old parts have been restored.

Here are links to two different MPC Boxings of the kit. For those who may not know what kit is being talked about. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/straightline-competition/mpc-the-malco-gasse/ and the Multi Maverick. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/straightline-competition/mpc-mutli-maverick-/

After the QC issues with the Ramp Truck, I sure hope Moebius has fixed things by the time this truck come out.

anyone ever 'kit' the original Dodge Power Wagon?
stavanzer replied to fiatboy's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Roco Minitanks probably has the best Dodges kitted, but they are 1/87 scale. Still some of the best kits ever. -
Does anybody make these Decals ?
stavanzer replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I've never seen them before. -
Great Nova. As others have said, you nicely captured the 'period vibe' on this build.

Wow, what an Amazing pair of cars! Great builds!

As my Dad always says, "Askin' ain't Gettin'"

"It holds a certain charm to me." This statement sums up the reason why Round2 and Atlantis are kicking it right now. For all of their warts, the old kits live on in our hearts. We want to use our modern skills to create what we envisioned all those years ago, using the same Raw Materials. Great Job Scott!

R model Mack garbage truck Finished
stavanzer replied to gotnitro?'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Great Work, Jeff! You are showing a Master Class in scratch building. -
The Red Baron is a Great Kit! I have built it. When you build it, remember that the Model kit was designed first, and the 1/1 car was copied from the kit. So if there are differences, the kit came first. The Red Baron is a Tom Daniels design, for Monogram Models. Other than being a Showrod, it has little in Common with the MPC Kit. The Mummy is one of three in a series by MPC. They were apparently built to get more life out of old hot rot tooling and compete against the more popular Tom Daniels series of Showrods from Monogram. http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/mummy_machine.html Wolfman. http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/night_crawler.html Skull. http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/creepyt.html For a look at almost all the Showrods ever kitted, try the Showrod Rally's "Master List" http://www.showrods.com/home_page_links/alpha_list.html The Rally is a great place to learn more about Showrods.

Mack AC Log truck re release
stavanzer replied to GLMFAA1's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Try the RPM 1/72 Scale Mack Truck. It has the wheels you are looking for. At least, you would have a start to scratch building your own. https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/rpm/kit_rpm_72401.shtml (You're on going to have to Wing It for the 1/24 scale Sub) -
Question about Cadillac model kits…..
stavanzer replied to Street Rod's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The MPC 28 Lincolns are good kits, but very Fiddly to get together. Don't bother with the Out of Scale working steering. I'd prefer the Monogram Classics to start. They go together faster and more cleanly than any other kits listed. I'd not tackle any of the Italeri Classics until I had a few Monogram kits under my belt.
