  1. Note that the Grille and hat are a small , separate sprue together, and look to be easily swapped for a different grille, at a future date. Also, the 5 small round Driving Light/Fog Light/ Auxiliary Light lenses on the Clear tree. Good things will be coming from the tooling for years.
  2. Thanks, Mike! But, I'll bet it is Toxic to Parrots, and my Amazon Parrot would not appreciate my bring this home. But, a great idea after he leaves.
  3. If you have S.A.D: Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a mood disorder subset in which people who typically have normal mental health throughout most of the year exhibit depressive symptoms at the same time each year.It is commonly, but not always, associated with the reductions or increases in total daily sunlight hours that occur during the winter or summer. This is a great thing, to have the sun come out. My Father had S.A.D., and it got worse as he got older. I have it too, but live in Central California, so there are fewer days when it is overcast and ugly. That helps me to avoid the symptoms. Enjoy Your Sunshine!
  4. Here is HPI Guy's video.
  5. I had not thought of that. But, then why go to the trouble of all new tooling if you have a limited time to sell/numbers to sell?
  6. And, the Atlantis '57 Bel-Aire will get you the Blower for a Gasser build. The engine are from similar tooling, and the parts swap is easy.
  7. Out of Production Already!?! WT....?
  8. Awesome Build. You have absolutely Nailed the Look! Good Show.
  9. Or, to finally get it, but realize that your building skills are not advanced enough to do justice to the kit, so it sits, waiting for you to tackle it, "Someday"......
  10. Hmmm.... Thanks, Mark. I've been using bar soap for 50 years. Maybe it is time for a change. Tub is a One Piece Shower/Tub insert in Fibreglass. It was installed new when the house was built in 1986. It is pretty badly used. (the house was a rental for about 5 years before we bought it as a Bank Owned Repo), so it is worn, but not yet worn out. And there is no money right for a replacement. So, I need to at least try to take better care of it. Thanks for all the advice.
  11. My Wife has one of these, as a Christmas Decoration. It's in my Closet as we speak.
  12. I see more and more of this too. I am surprised by how many older Modelers seem to have no clue what the part they are holding is! I get not being all that well versed on Cars but, Some folks seem to be just aware enough to know the Body from the Chassis. Oddly some of them build very nice Models, but don't know much about the subject. But, You can always learn new techniques, at least. And this seem also not to be nearly as big a problem with Armor, Naval and Aircraft Modelers. Due to level of interest in the Subject, perhaps. That said, I hear one more guy on YouTube call Horizontal Stabilators and Elevators on a Plane the "Tail Wings", I'll scream. 😂
  13. Due to a torn Rotator Cuff, Laziness, and Fugue, I have let the Bathtub in my Bathroom get really grody. (Ugh) Now I'd like to ask for some advice on what Cleaner, I need to use on it. I can get down and scrub it, but only for 10-15 minutes at a time. It is mostly just grease and body oils, no real dirt. I'm thinking of using something like Citrisolve to cur the grease, but has anybody else got other products they'd recommend? I know this is TMI, but I need to get it done, and start getting back into my old cleaning routines. Thanks!
  14. I've always said, "We're Grateful, They're Dead" I'm the right age to be a Fan, but I never liked them.
  15. We on the Forum forget that what we like, may not always be what sells to the casual Builder. And the Body Proportion issues that spawn the dreaded, "Once I see it, I can never un-see it", Kiss O'Death for us, does not matter to the casual Builder. And, Face it, they purchase a heck of a lot more models than we do.
  16. Great use of the 1/35 Tank kit to start your build! It looks sharp.
  17. Most of this is great Advice. I can only add a little to it. Estate Sales. Can be some great stuff, and they are usually in a big hurry to sell things. Also the best place to look for older tools, and some supplies. I got a lifetime supply of #11 Exacto blades for $5 a couple years ago. Two boxes 500 Blades each. Judging by the price tags, they are from the 1970's. Also got some Knife Handles, ans some small clamps. Guy was not a model builder, but he apparently did a lot of small woodworking. I've picked up other small tools for very little money, too. Facebook Marketplace. A friend of mine gets quite a few models there. Not much rare stuff, (He builds NASCAR and USAF planes), but he has found a couple things for me. Shopgoodwill.com They have a customizable search. Look under the 'advanced search' Crafts and Hobbies, and set your search to Hobby Kits. Couple other points... 1.Misspelled searches will occasionally yield great results. I got a Johan Superbird get, mostly unbuilt for $10.00 about four years ago. (Just before COVID). it was listed as a "John" kit. I just stumbled on it and used buy it now. Revell gets spelled with one "L" surprisingly often by folks who don't know the name. 2. What hasn't been mentioned is that the "Early Bird Gets the Worm." By this I mean, My friend that gets his deals on Shop Goodwill, and Facebook Markets place? He is on those sites searching every day. He puts in a whole lot of time looking for the kits he wants. Back when I was going at it Hot&Heavy, I'd some times spend several hours a night searching eBay. I got great deals, but I spent hours looking. Hit 4 or 5 garage sales, ever Saturday if you can too. 3. Use networking. You are young so you don't have a large network yet, but make sure all of your Friend know abut your Hobby. Not in boring way, but a "Hey, if you ever see any of these, I'm interested in them way". Talk to your neighbors, Friends at church, folks you get to know at school. And, when somebody clues you in to a kit buy it. Don't turn it down. I lost a bunch of older kits when I did not buy the first one my buddy found, The reason I lost them? "Well, When you turned down the first one I found, I figured you wouldn't be interested in any others I found". Thus he didn't tell me about the box full he found about 2 months later..... If you don't buy, at least really Thank Them! Also, newer kits are great trade fodder. If your stash is small it is hard to trade for things you want on boards like this. Anyway, That's all the Advice I have. Hope this Helps.
  18. I've got a 1/35 Tamiya Stegosaurus waiting with my other 1/35 scale armor for just such a fantasy build. Great Build and painting. Good Show.
  19. The T-28 is powered by the very engine that Phil built. the R-1820 Wright Cyclone, It powered the B-17, DC-3,HU-16 Albatross, S2 Tracker-Trader-Tracer & the T-28. Amongst many others. So, if you've been around running T-28, you heard the Cyclone.
  20. No, it's the Revell kit from the 1970's, not the Monogram.
  21. Very Sharp for a kit originally tooled by Aurora Plastics in the early 1970's. You have done it justice.
  22. I've seen at least three you tube videos of these Model T Snow Machines. A couple were a good 15-20 minutes long. There appear to be at least a couple of Vintage Ford groups that restored or built them.
