Revell Ford Bronco questions
stavanzer replied to berr13's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That would be roughly 3 to 4 MM (Millimeters). -
Harley Richards from Britain did this one several years ago. http://www.showrods.com/gallery_pages/garbage_pickup.html He notes the size issue.

Heck Yeah! Send about 6 of those. You can NEVER have too many XR-6's... I have two of the original XR-6 kits, Four of the '27 Firetruck versions of this tool, two My Mother the Car kits(also from this tool) and a half dozen of the later versions of the touring, including the Hillbilly Hotrod. It is a fabulous kit. Needs to be brought back restored. It would be nice to see the firetruck version back as well.

Remember this one ?

All three of these kits share the Chassis, Engine and stock wheels. Monogram got a lot of use out of these tools. -

I have one. Great kit. About 60% of it still exists. Wish Revell would restore it. Notgonnahappen, though. -
1/24 Yugo or Fiat 127 kit by chance?
stavanzer replied to aurfalien's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I remember a reviewer in 1988, writing in one of the car magazine, saying that the shifter worked "with all the smoothness of a baseball bat in barrel full of coconuts". It was such a memorable phrase, that I still recall it, some 30 years later. -

Your son has great taste. Look really Sharp. -
That sprue with the radio is indeed the same as the S&H kit. It makes a nice bonus.

As far as I know, your only choices are the Imai kits from the 1990's. Revell only does the 1959 Caddy. However others may know much more.

Try SEL )Scale Equipment Limited) or Fireball Models. -
Thanks for the assist, Cap'n. It is really the 4 spoke and the older kit(wrong as the body may be) that I am looking for.

I can't tell. The box is shown open, but all parts are sealed in bags, including the tires. The tire bag should have been my clue. It has to be a newer kit. https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/52143045

Any Idea where the MPC-706 boxing falls in the tree oh DOH Kits. I found one, but can't tell what's in it. Is molded in white, if that helps. No Date on the boxtop.

A huge Shout Out to Bob Downie for the Detail Build of the Revell Bronco. He used the resin Olsen Brothers roadster door inserts, and they look great. Bob, do you have any other pics of the cutting and blending on those inserts, or a copy of the Olsen Bros, Instruction sheet. I'm going to have to build one of these roadster Broncos, after reading your article. Thanks, Alan

At least they showed the models first, this time. I didna have to fast forward through all the diecast. I like 5 out of the six models. The Space 1999 Hawk is neat.

Pete, Ford is looking at their future. Red ink in every Sedan Sales tally tells them that for good reasons or bad, consumers are not buying their cars in great enough numbers to be profitable. So, The Sedans morph into 'tall wagons' or CUVs and Ford goes all in on trucks and bigger SUVs. I'll predict that General Motors goes this way too, in a couple of years. Their sedans sell in even worse numbers that Ford's do. As a group we can decry the change, but it appears that the Ford CEO, is moving the company is a direction he judges will ultimately be successful. And realize that this is in essence a group judgment. Nothing in the Ford Motor Company happens on the CEO's whim anymore. Many,Many people had input on this. I wager that this change has been in the planning stages for a couple years, at least. I see this as a good direction. Given my aging knees, it is far easier to get up into my Kia Sorento, and slide out, than it was to twist down into my Hyundai Elantra, and lift myself back out. I'll never have another car again. (well maybe another 1965 New Yorker...) It will be boxy, useful haulers from here on out. They may be simple 'appliance' cars, but my days of wanting a 'Cool Car" are about over with. I want vast utility, decent mileage, and Ice Cold A/C. Style just doesn't factor in anymore.

Game of "Name that Part"
stavanzer replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Chuck. I sent that plow to Patrick. I did get it from Don Loomis, so your guess is correct. I have a whole tub full of Loomis resin bits. All the Resin in Patrick's box came from Don. -
Thanks Force! I now know what to look for to verify that it is an original kit. 1979 does not seem like that long ago.....

Heller 1949 Talbot Lago Grand prix racer
stavanzer replied to samdiego's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have the SMER kit. I need to build it. Seeing your build of the Heller kit, makes me wonder if I should just trash it, and get the Heller kit. Your build is outstanding.
