  1. Thanks, Steve M. I've learned more abouth this kit today, than ever before. Factory Rallye Wheels. Shows you how much I know about AMC's..........
  2. Sorry, I was wrong. And they are sitting right behind me. What a goof. Anyway, the rest is correct.
  3. I have two of this kit. It is Custom Only. Parts Fit is typical mid 70's MPC fit. (Sloppy) Detail is soft in some places, crisp in others. Great kits, IF you like the subject matter and are not scared of Dodgy Fit, and some off looking parts. Mine both have bunches of tire halves, and will be getting modern one piece AMT/MPC rubber when finished. There are 16 parts on the Chrome Tree. Plating is thin and fading on both my kits. Of the 16 parts, 4 are Wheels ,(really strange looking period 5-spoke mags) and 4 are Taillights. Grille, Two Headlights, Two Sidepipes, a Shifter, a Rear Sway Bar(?) and an alternator complete the chrome. Only options for the Body are window fillers for the Rear and Side windows. I really like this kit, and would have a bunch more if they fell into my lap. But you do have to both know what you are getting in the box (a decent, but not great MPC kit) and really like the subject matter. If you do, this is a Great Kit. If not, it is a huge PITA. Alan
  4. Well, I know at least One Tire set that Revell could sell a ton of. The Oddball "Toyo?" tires from their Tuner Hondas/Acuras. With 4 sets of different wheels per kit, and only one set of tires, I have 18 sets of Tuner Wheels needing tires. You'll notice that as was mentioned earlier, that the Tuner Wheels ARE on a separate sprue. They could be marketed with that one sprue and 16 tires by themselves. Not sure if it would be worth taking the chance on for Revell, however. Might be more trouble than it's worth, as Gerry and Casey have already noted. Revell have tooled some really excellent tires lately. I'd buy just the tires, and go resin for the wheels, if I had to. At least the Tires would not require any changes in tooling to sell, by themselves. Since Round2 and Moebuis are have some luck with tires, I'd like to think Revell can be talked into doing it. However, a caveat. Should Revell listen to us, and take a chance on Tire packs, we are thus obligated to pony up, and buy truckloads of them, in order not to spook Revell going forward. If Revell overcomes their (justified) fear of Parts Packs, it be us 1% Online Modelers who shift the needle. It will be up to that same 1% to help it pay off.
  5. Thanks, for clearing that up, Craig. I am not up on F.I. units, and would have thought the two were the same. Shows what I know, eh?
  6. Scott, is correct. That is really not useful, or helpful. 2 1/2 minutes of somewhat pointless reminiscing , and not even any shot inside the box. I am guessing it is not your work, but that has to be one of the worst YouTube Kit Reviews, I've ever watched. Nice if you like that sort of thing, I suppose, but not a kit review.
  7. Craig, I know it is not a 1960's F.I. unit, but could the one in the new(er) Revell 1957 Chevy "Black Widow" be modified to look like what you want? It is a great little bit of tooling, and is light years ahead of the AMT Stuff. Probably not too much harder to find, either.
  8. i just looked myself. Many issues have the directions there, but no second issue. Casey is correct.
  9. I have an opened copy of the Perstige Kit, bought at Goodwill several years ago. It seems to have many more parts it, than it should. I, too, would like see what is inside an 'un-molested' Prestige kit.
  10. Chris, I'd look for the instruction sheet over at the Drastic Plastic website. No Pics, but it will give an idea of what is in the kit.
  11. Thanks, MG! I have a couple of these already, much older issues. I'll stick with them. The Pics really helped.
  12. Thanks, MG. Looking forward to seeing them. They hopefully will answer my question. Is the Double-Barreled Shotgun Blower Scoop (from the Yankee Challenger) still in the kit?
  13. Dave, is correct about this kit being a real mixed bag. Mine will get built as a Two Seat rallye style car. What is hardest to find are any photos, of the odd, apparently One-of-a-Kind Air Intake/Carb set up. It looks like it was unique to this car, and while AMT faithfully reproduced it, trying to pin it down in detail is impossible for me, anyways. I plan to use the kit, engine, with the Pie Plate air cleaner, that is in this kit as well. Alan
  14. Man, that is one STOUT rear axle in that thing! Are the tyres the smooth, treadless knid? It's hard for me to tell from the Pic. Great Pics, Ron! This scratches this one off the list of kits I'd like to purchase. There is no problem with that, however. It just frees up more $$$ for other kits I want. Thanks, Alan
  15. A winner, for sure. That Tamiya Coral Blue is quickly becoming one of my favorite colours.
  16. This is indeed, a great build! As others have remarked, the Engine Compartment and Engine are both outstanding. I like the seldom seen straight 6 engine. Adds a unique touch.
  17. Thanks, Gary. It looks like both the Chevy P/U and the '67 Camaro are both very lightly re-tooled re-issues of older kits. Nice to see but not a "Must-Have" by any means. Sorry, Revell, you get none of my Modeling Dollars this quarter. Maybe the Second Quarter will be better. The rest of the First Quarter releases are total Zeros to me, but I hope they sell to others. Maybe Revell, is just worn out, from last year. I hope the excitement returns later in 2016.
  18. Great Matador! I need to find one of these kits.
  19. Noel. Lindberg ended up with most of the Pyro tooling. The Inpact Biplanes have been seen in Lindberg boxes up until the early 2000's. I have some of the kits. The Inpact molds have been very well taken care of, and comparing the most recent kits in my stash with an old original Inpact kits shows little signs of wear. The Triumph GT6 coupe was also out in a Lindberg box with the last ten years. Had decent decals, vinyl tires, and a few options to build, but the Multi-piece body was very unpopular, and I'm not sure how well it sold. There is a decent kit review of the Triumph over at ModelingMadness.com Look under "Kit Previews -L" You should find it. Looking at Round2's "Lindberg" pages shows a large number of what must be ex=Pyro tools, in production. I really want the Civil War Blockade Runner and the "Q"-Ship. HTH Alan
  20. Dollar Stores are a great place to get basic tools cheaply. I get all my sanding sticks from the Nails/Cosmetics section, and have found various small clamps, and small hand tools. ( A pair of small pliers with some tape on the jaws and a rubber band around the handle can sometimes clamp things that clothes pins are too big or awkward to handle) Of course you can get masking tape, and some CA Glue there too. Even cheap "Not-Excato" knife sets, that while mostly lousy can get some blades and a plastic mitre box for a buck. Just the thing for when the LHS is closed and you need more knife blades now! Walk the aisles and see what jumps out at you.
  21. Brian, both of my Jo-Han Turbine kits (both the original issue and a 90's re-pop) had short shot exhaust ducts. It was the same pieces in both kits. That must have been some kind of ongoing issue with the tool itself. The re-pop had a much bigger had a much bigger "shortage' than the original did.
  22. That looks like a Heck of a Lot of Fun! Superb Build. I really like the patina in the paint job. Stance and wheels are perfect, as well.
  23. Great! Another Round2 kit that just shifted to "Must-Have" status. Both the Charger and the Deora are both Kits I just have to buy.
  24. Two Thumbs Up! I too, like your Exhaust Header Treatment. That's how I plan to build mine too.
