  2. The Surgery looks to be very successful. Model On.
  3. Can't wait to see the Photos.
  4. Looks Very Good so far. I've never owned this kit, so this is all new to me.
  5. Now, I want one.... Make a great Lowboy Trailer load.
  6. Awesome Build. Your details are great? This kit defeated me back in 1980, I need to get one, and try it now.
  7. I see You have started the Packard! You seem to be making excellent progress. The bodywork is looking good.
  8. I bought the Grant King Race team in either 1979 or 1980 when I was in High School and brought it home. I started building it right away. It was a huge kit for me at 16, with 3 complete models included. Before that, I was buying only the Airfix Blister Pack kits, for 1/72 planes, and the occasional AMT Car kit. I still remember the name of the Hobby Shop. "Ming Hobbies" was named after the street it was on. Ming Avenue. Hard to believe it was 45 years ago that I bought this kit. Over the years, I lost first the box, and then the Trailer and Race car. The Racer never got finished due the fact that the skill level need to get everything together was beyond me then. I still have the Little V-8 engine in my stash. I have no idea where the trailer went. So, Last night, I am digging through boxes of kits in my stash, when I come across the '53 Ford Pickup from this kit. It is about 90% painted, and seems to be 97% complete. It is painted in Testor's Turquoise Paint, 1107TT. (I think). The paint on my kit looks Greener than this photo, but due to the odd reproduction of colour on the internet, it's hard to tell. The Interior is painted in Testor's Gloss Yellow. It has 2-piece hard plastic AMT Firestone Skinny tires, and I built the DeSoto Firedome engine and finished it in Gloss Battleship Gray. (Not sure why I chose those colours, but I did....) So, my question is, should I try to just assemble then kit as it is now, horrible tasteless colours and all, or should I strip it and start fresh? I have a half-dozen AMT/Round2 '53 Ford Pickup Kits, the Most recent being the "Mod Stock Hauler" kit that I got at Hooby Looby a couple months ago. So This particular kit is unique only in being a 45 year old Time Capsule into what 16 Year old me thought was the Greatest, Biggest Kit I had ever had, up to that time. If I keep it as it now sits, should I try to add anything to it, or just use what is in the box? As I said, it seems like all the parts are there to finish it, at least as a Custom Truck which was my intend since I used the DeSoto engine, but painted the stock wheels... It will be a sort of Frankenstein Truck when I finish it. Anyhow, what say You Guys?
  9. That sounds Great! I hope to see them, when you finish them.
  10. Welcome to the world of Classic Cars, Nathan. Sadly, some of the Folks who have the $$$ to afford these Dream Machines, are not the nicest folks. I've seen it in all the Full Size Auto Hobbies I have been involved in. It makes no difference the category. Military Vehicles, Classic Cars, Model T Fords, Street Rods. Rudeness, Entitlement, and just plain ole Selfishness show up in any organized Enthusiast Group. The Higher the Cost To Join, the more "Jerks with Money" seem to show up. There are always polite, helpful folks in these hobbies too. And usually they far outnumber teh jerks. Glad Your Dad found some parts you needed.
  11. I already did that with that kit. Otherwise I could help you.
  12. Best I can think of is Fireball Modelworks. But He only does White Lettering. It might be worth dropping him a line to see if he could make some custom Orange Ones for you. https://fireballmodels.info/white-letter.html He does list some Mickey Thompson decals.
  13. Wow! I like the Comets and this looks very Sharp.
  14. Marley, welcome to the Forum! We are a happy group, and will Cheer Your Builds & Answer Your Questions. Alan
  15. Well, I went down the rabbit hole and binged on Bighorn videos. I see why they are so sought after. Unique Trucks for sure, and you really captured the Vibe well with your build.
  16. David, more Magic from your Workbench! You never cease to Amaze me with you skills and attention to detail.
  17. I'll join Team Crossram too. As Bill says "Too Much is Never Enough"
  18. I have a Brand New, 2 Stroke Gasoline Trimmer in the Garage that I cannot figure out how to start and use. So, there it sits, for the past 3 years. So, I hear you on trimmers.
  19. How many Tractors has Revell Germany brought out now. At least 2 older, and is this the Second Modern Tractor?
  20. Great Diorama! Detailing is Out of this World! Good Show.
  21. Got any Pics of your Jig? I'll be building the AMT Alaska Hauler soon, and a Frame Jig sounds just the trick for stopping trouble before it arrives. Thanks, Alan
  22. The Convertible is based on the Older Revell Bug, I think. The Blue '68 is the recent tooling. A neat Kit.
  23. Great Work so Far! You have really Advanced the Old Monogram kit.
  24. 58 Years old, and it looks like it was completed Yesterday..... Great Story, and a wonderful finish to a very Long Term Build. Good Show.
