  1. I'd get one just for the Plow/Forks and Weapons! Maybe they will tool up some nice, new All Terrain Tires for it. It will probably be a Curbside, but I can live with that.
  2. I've read somewhere that the camper might fit the original SMT/AMT '62/63 Chevy Truck, but don't hold me to that. I do not have one to check. It does make a kind of sense that it might fit though, since SMT was about maximizing tooling on the trucks. If you look at the instruction sheets for the '62/63 Pickups, both the Ford and Chevy share a lot of accessory parts, and maybe some engine parts and wheels too. So the Camper might fit........ Did you see the Twisted Metal Ice Cream truck and UFO Crawler kit it in the Wonderfest Video? Not much for us Car Guys, but some great kits anyways! I hope they sell in huge numbers. I suspect the better the Sci-Fi kits sell, the more budget there is for cloning old car kits. Thanks for posting the Video, Jesse!!
  3. I was thinking more along the lines of, you find one, and maybe somebody can help you get it. Trade for it, or work out a deal some how. Good Luck.
  4. You are so correct about this. You see a lot of this kind of engineering in major appliances, Esp Dishwashers, Washing Machines and Dryers.
  5. I did not know that! Thank You for letting me know, Steve.
  6. Thanks, Charles. I'd missed this the first time it was posted.
  7. Yeah, IMDBC is okay, but Crowd sourcing can fail. Good Luck on the Toyota P'up. Aoshima or one of the Other Japanese Big 4 may have tooled up an Xtra Cab Yota. Try looking at Hobby Link Japan.
  8. Here are some Instruction sheets and Box Art Pics to give you an idea of what is in each one. Monogram First: The Monogram kit just fits & builds better than the Revell kit. It is a sturdy kit, as was the norm for Monogram kits when it was tooled. It has some nice custom touches. Some Work, and some Don't. The Air Dam and Hood Scoop have not aged well, but the optional Triple Carbs, "Bundle of Snakes" and Custom Front & Rear End treatments still work IMHO. The only Engine is the Stove Bolt 6, but as you can see, you do get Stock and Rod build versions. The Stock hub caps are great, but the "turbine' style rims are dated and cliche' to my eye. Happily though, you can easily swap in the rims from most old Monogram 1/24 scale kits. The much released "Heavy Chevy" kit has some nice rims and other Monogram kits kits can provide options too. I've built one of these and was very pleased with it, until a falling bookshelf assassinated it. I need to get another one and build it. It was one of the first times I got a good spray paint job on a kit. I was so proud of it. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/monogram-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1951-1960/monogram_53_chevy/?view=roll#1 https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/monogram-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1951-1960/monogram-53-chevy-2781/?view=roll#1 Then the Revell: The Revell Kit has a Gasser Straight Axle or stock height front end. 409 Engine with a High Rise Dual Carb or GMC Blower Option. Some versions of the Kit give you "stock" bench seats or racing buckets. I've seen at least one with no bench. Despite the difficulty and lack of a true Stock Build parts, it was a popular kit. Delicate and Fiddly, I built more than a few back in the day.. The Red,White & Blue stripes on the Panel sold me, (and many others) that kit! In fact I've heard a few say that the best part of the '53 Panel is the box art. Only a few young builders in the '70's had the skill to try to paint it that way. But we never stopped trying!! The Blown 409 was a great kit bashing engine, and powered many other builds due to it's bulk and 'Kool Factor'! https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/revell-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1951-1960/revell-53-chevy/?view=roll#1 https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/revell-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1951-1960/revell-53-chevy-pan/?view=roll#2
  9. I've seen photographs of many Full Size, Clay Body Models in various magazines and books over the years. Detroit Styling Studios used the 2 Door/4 Door trick quite a few times on the full size mockups to show what both version would look like. Often times they would show different trim levels on each side as well. Just a way to maximize the effort on the Models.
  10. Quite Different Kits. I found unboxing videos of each, and a build article for the Stock kit. I have both kits myself. It has been a couple years since I looked in the boxes, but I'd guess they share about 50%-75% of their parts. But, I'll admit that I may be misremembering them. The videos are more trustworthy than my memory. Good Luck Finding a Flash Kit. Scalemates Timeline shows that it has been released twice. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/moebius-models-1221-butch-leals-california-flash--1121272 The Flash: The Belvedere: https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/builds/moe/build_moe_1218.shtml
  11. And 3 years later, I finally got one. Looking forward to building it.
  12. Excellent Build, Dutz! Great Weathering, as well. The Trailer really enhances the build. Good Show.
  13. Indeed, the change in Rims & Tires really enhances this build. Exactly the look I'm want on my Build. Thanks for the Inspiration.
  14. I can Confirm this. And the Shelby Rear Wheels are Really, Really wide. They may not fit the extra tires in the new kit. It's worth checking out, IMHO. For a normal build, you need 2 sets of the front rims, unless you want an extreme Big 'n' Little effect.
  15. Awesome Build! I like the Decals! Good Show.
  16. I'd look at old Revell Big Daddy Ed Roth kits. The Outlaw, Mysterion, Tweedy Pie, & Road Agent are kits I would look at for Chassis / Engine parts.
  17. Thanks , Steve. Fresh Information, straight from the source. We can all calm down now, and wait to see what will be shown next.
  18. Want! I'll keep checking back for contact Info. Thanks for sharing this!
  19. Gary, I found some Woodlite Headlights. https://icemancollections.com/products/woodlite-headlights-1-24-1-25
  20. Very Nice Car! The black is flawless! Good Show.
  21. I like this! Those Wheels look very Good.
