I didn't know this kit existed. Looks like it has very good detail. Yours look very nice, cleanly built.

One of my favorite all time bands. From backing Ronnie Hawkins, then known as The Hawks, to backing Bob Dylan and then coming into their own, they were superb musicians. Robbie was also a great song writer. The Weight, and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, to name but two. I was lucky to have seen them during there Last Waltz tour. Garth Hudson is still alive, he turned 86 at the start of the month. -
This chevelle has 3 coats of white lighting over dark gray duplicolor dark gray. After the first coat, it took on a silvery blue color. After the 2nd two it looks as you see. Not quite full white, but looks pretty good. As I'm sure you know, with a dark base and a very light top coat, you gotta ensure all the panel match in hue. The pics were taken outside to help bring out the pearl. Hope this helps.

That looks really cool.

I can't find the words to described how awed I am with this build.

Just remembered, Heart Like A Wheel.

Grand Prix with James Garner. I saw it at the drive in when it first when it first came out, I was six.

Someone fairly recently posted a Merc woody and used the tape for the wood panels. Looked very good.

Coming along nicely. That clear coat came out great.

68 chevelle SS interior colors
Chuckyg1 replied to Chuckyg1's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think that's it Steve. I only did a basic search, searching brochures, etc. never crossed my mind. I'll know better next time. Yeah production line changes happened all the time. While reseaeching, I read that the black color running on the bottom of the car was standard but deleted when stripes were added. Not too long after production began, the black was left on regardless if stripes were added. just one of a number changes that occured. Thanks to you and everyone who took the time to respond. There's no place better than this forum. -
68 chevelle SS interior colors

Yes, that's where I got the conflicting info. I specifically searched for 68 Chevelle SS blue dashboard to filter out the lesser models, (300, Malibu, etc.). Still got mixed results. I may just go with the black instrument panel. It'll be visually more interesting and easier to detail. ? I'll wait through the weekend in case someone has a definitive answer. Thank you. -

That's helpful. I'm thinking the black instument panels might be for non SS cars. Bet yours is awesome. Do you get get on the road after? Thanks for the input. -

Thanks Greg. There's a wealth of info here. I've saved it for future reference needs. Unfortunately, it's not what I'm looking for. I appreciate the response. -
I'm researching for my next build, Revells' 68 Chevelle SS. I want to go with a blue interior, but I'm running into conflicting info. I've found the complete dash & wheel in blue, or the instrument cluster and and wheel black with the rest of the dash in blue. I've also noticed the cowl below the windshield is either solid black, or body color with only the vents being black. Any experts out there know which is correct? Thanks in advance.

The more I look, the more I see. Wonderful detail work and a beautiful build. My hat is off to you.

Good thinking for the frame assembly.

I've never heard of this kit. This will be cool for sure. Can't wait to see how it goes.

Post your truck mockups.

This has been around about 10 - 12 years, if not more. I misplaced the frame a number of years back. It was recently found in a box full of parts. My goal is to finish it before year end. -
The color os perfect. Awesome work. Far & beyond anything I'm capable of, (so far.) With the bumper in place, the front looks "heavy" to me.
