Just finished this one. I thought I'd go full fendered to be a little different. The fenders are smoothed units from RMoM, as are the door panels, seat and radiator. Like some others here, I wanted a different engine, and settled for one from Tamiya's 300ZX. Surprisingly, it fit pretty good. Just had to modify the engine mounts. The cone filters came from AMT's '41 woody. Small extensions from the exhaust manifold the to the pipes were all It needed. Tires, wheels & exhaust tips are from the Copperhead concept. Suspension is OOB. Shifter, pedals and out board mirror from the parts box. Gas tank was removed & a roll pan was scratched. Tail lights also came from the parts box. Paint is Testors lacquers, purplelicious & white lightning. Primer is Mr Surfacer 1000. First time I've used it, great stuff. I had a lot of fun with this build. Except for a few minor paint issues, I think it came out pretty nice. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was initially attracted to the color Maxx paint due to the discounted price. Thought I might save a couple of bucks, but didn't want to buy an inferior product either. While MCW/ Splash paints offer plenty of options, it's going to be pricier the these paints.

I'm not a fan of bargain paints either. I've tried rustoleum with the mixed results you mentioned. I use model paints, ( Testors & Tamiya mostly. ) & sometimes automotive paints depending on my needs. My thought was, at that price, and the color palette available, I'd get some input from the forum before picking some up. I may just get some satins for interior use, and call it a day. Thanks for your, and everyone else's input

Is this brand any good? My local Lowes has them marked down to $2-$4 each, including gloss clear. What primer works best with them? Thanks.

It looks great "not so gangster." I like the color choices.

The paint is awesome, nicely done. The wheel/tire combo are perfect

Sweet looking ride.

Watched this one being put together, turned out great! Super clean & detailed.

I picked up the hard top kit when they were 1st released. Two complaints at the time were the difficulty assembling the hood hinges, and the satin finish on the chrome. If I remember, you could request replace the chrome. I'm thinking the bright chrome tree was added after the issue was discovered. I haven't built mine either.

The exterior/interior combo is perfect. Almost there.

You've been busy. Looking good so far.

Look good. I'm working on a 32 roadster right now and am stuck for a color. Image a can of this color. It looks great on your woody, and just might find it's way on to mine. Nice build and thanks for the inspiration.

Great build, cleanly done. Looks really cool without the body.

Now that's cool!

I always have trouble with wheel well trim, thanks for the tutorial. That dash is awesome.

Nice bus. I want to build one of these, but the multi piece body makes me hesitate.

Two nice builds. I like the color choice on the '60.

Talk about challenging yourself. This will be an interesting build, I'm along for the ride.

I was reading a review for a new Broadway play, (Shucked), when the critic mentioned these lines from the show. " My mama used to say marriage is a lot like a tornado. It starts out with a whole lot of banging & pounding, and ends up with someone losing a house." " I just passed a huge squirrel, which is odd, because I don't remember eating one." " If you get drunk before you get your drivers license picture, you'll look normal when you get pulled over."

Nice looking pair, I like them both. Are the headlights left off the coupe on purpose?
-
Nice job. That interior is looking sweet.

I never knew this kit existed. Considering what you started with, this turned out awesome. Wonderfully detailed, and the perfect color.
