  1. Altered States has a really nice Bantam as well. I thought I had a picture, guess not. Check out Chuck's Site! Good Stuff!
  2. All sanctioning bodies required funny car bodies to be American production cars, no Jeeps or pickups allowed. This was NHRA, AHRA, UDRA, all of them. Could strips run exceptions? To an extent, if it didn't invalidate their insurance or expose them to liability. Stretch the rules (in local competition), sure. There was a period when "roadsters",Jeeps, Jaguars and Bronco's were legal. By 1969 when the FC funny car class was established, none of those were allowed. By definition anything that wasn't class legal was an exhibition car. Can't think of anything in scale that hasn't been mentioned here!
  3. WOW! That engine bay is too much! Great job on a kit I've had sitting for ages! Thanks for posting it!!!
  4. WOW! Great EYE and great work.A very nice Ford!!!
  5. Is that not a diecast model???
  6. But I need Russian Coyote urine! Quite the thing for my Russian women!!!
  7. I didn't really aim it at you! Sorry, I'm not trying to argue at all, just clarify a very fine and obscure point...from 50 years ago! LOL! Not intended to be snarky at all!
  8. Nice.I love the 41 as a gas class car. I would lose the extended wheelie bar thing and lower the nose though. That's just me. Love the concept!
  9. Dang! I've been looking for Coyote Urine!
  10. S/XS through C/XS were classes for FUNNY CARS, nothing else from 1966 to 1969 when they were reclassified as FUNNY CARS! You got it all wrong. They ran in nHRA Super Eliminator if blown, Competition Eliminator if injected. They OF COURSE ran match races as well. Sigh.It raced, lot's of exhibition cars did.In match races. It did not qualify as a funny car in NHRA, AHRA, NASCAR, UDRA or anything else.Did it race funny cars? YES> It still was an exhibition car. CLEARLY you do not understand what an exhibition car was.Jets also ran dragsters, funny cars, even a go kart. They were exhibition cars. Ask Walt what class he ran. He'll be honest, NO CLASS.Match racing sure. LOL Not going to argue.
  11. Uh,no.Simply no. It didn't fit funny car rules, was NOt a copy of a real production car. And it was too short and not legal as as an AA'FD. It was a match racer, that's all.In that sense it was an exhibition car.ANY car that did not fit an NHRA class was an exhibition car by definition.
  13. Not really. It raced, that's for sure, but it HAD NO CLASS it fitted in. AMT claimed it was a funny car, but it wasn't.It really was a short wheelbase, rear engine fuel dragster. But it never ran as one.I can't think of any real races the Piranha ran in. If it ever did, there weren't many.AND I'd be interested in what class it ran.
  14. Interesting, you know your paint! Good build.
  15. Nice job! Love 32's!!!
  16. Cool 1960's style! THAT'S a hot rod! Very cool.
  17. At least I'm not the only one! PLEASE, if you hear or read anything, post it here! BUMP!
  18. On the subject of Hilborn's for the Y Block, it would be great if somebody that has the skills ( I don't ) could scratch then cast them. Same with FI manifolds (accurate ones ) for the 289 and FE families! The AMT original annual 67 Comet had nice injectors for the FE, nobody ever cast 'em. Wonder why Fords have been neglected. Otherwise, a pretty decent kit, despite it's obviously dated shortcomings. Love the old kits.
  19. Very impressive work! HOW exactly did you modify the sides of the body? Every time I open the box of the Trumpeter i cringe, obviously this is the body's biggest problem, the slab sided look. So , how'd ya do it? Again, very impressive COOL work.
  20. Early racing classics had, among other bodies I foolishly didn't buy when I could have, a 32 Plymouth Coupe. I see that another caster has picked up some of their old products, but not theses bodies! Does anyone know if somebody else is casting them, or the other ex Early Racing Classics products ? OR any other sources for similar products? And, any news on / from Fremont Racing? They made cool stuff, I need some of their decals. Thanks in advance!
  21. Hudson's are the coolest, and yours is VERY cool! Nice job!
  22. WOW! Now this a VERY, VERY cool Deuce! I cannot believe the perfect paint, colors and detail.I'm floored!
  23. A DECENT 36 Coupe is LONG overdue! The AMT kit is a classic, but the **&&##T Two piece glue on the roof is terrible! Multi piece bodies are early 60's engineering! Like HOLES through the block! I'd buy some, especially if Revell made a DECENT, better than the recent kits, model of a 36 Coupe!
  24. Very nice! these 60's cars are my favorites, LOVE the vibe!!!
